Guest guest
Hi, Ruth: Sorry you had such a tough time with the ES. A word of advice, though, next time try some Magnesium Citrate instead that you can get from a drug store that's in liquid form. This is for those who can't stand the ES. I personally found that ES worked better for me, and one way around the taste is drinking it through a straw. But the other does work. I think they have a couple of flavors. I always had the cherry flavor. Next time you might make sure that you have the grapefruit. Hide it from your kids. I know that many people do it with lemon, and the first time I did the cleanse I used a different recipe. I was much better off with the olive oil, grapefruit one. To that I would occasionally 1/4 cup of organic apple juice, then a couple of drops of peppermint that I got from the health food store. A very little of that stuff goes a long way, and it's expensive. But it will last for a long time. It helps cut the nausea too. Guest guest
I did the flush last night- or tried to anyway. I was too hungry to completely fast after 2:00 PM, so I ended up having bread with honey at around 2:15. I took the epsom salts at 6:00, and got HORRIBLE cramps and diarhea from it. The pain was just starting to subside at 8:00 when I had to get my kids to bed, and I couldn't bring myself to drink any more of it. At 9:45 I discovered that one of my children ate the last grapefruit, so I had olive oil with lime juice instead (from a bottle.) Ugh that made me feel so nauseated!! I couldn't bring myself to take more epsom salts in the morning, either, when I already had loose stools and didn't want to be stuck in the bathroom at the time I had to get my kids ready for school. (This flush would have been even harder for me on a weekend with the kids home all day.) I had trouble sleeping last night, and had to make several trips to the bathroom during the night. I didn't do the " colander in the toilet bowl " thing because I didn't want to gross out my kids! We only have one bathroom so setting up a stone-catcher in one bathroom and having the family use another bathroom wasn't an option. Anyway, I've been peeking in the toilet and there's been greenish stuff floating in there. So I guess the flush did what it was meant to! Guest guest
I have a variety of essential oils in the house, but peppermint isn't one of them. Would spearmint work as well? If not, I could pick up some peppermint oil before I do another flush- it's just cheaper to use what I already have in the house! a couple of drops of peppermint that I got from the health food > store. I do know peppermint does help nausea. You might do some research on spearmint and see. Susie
Guest guest
I got so nauseous on my first flush I vomited for at least an hour. The second flush I did last week, I sucked on fresh ginger. This really helped with the nausea. I get it by my bed and whenver I started feeling weird I just put a little piece in my mouth. I sucked out the juice and spit it out. Give it a try! Shefy Hi, Shefy: Oh, I forgot about fresh ginger. When I would have it around, I'd grate up a little bit in my stuff that I drank. It really does help.
