>>>I WOULD LIKE TO TRY THE FLUSH but am afraid. My theory is that the

allergies and high cholesterol are caused by a damaged liver and if I

could repair the liver, those horrid things would go away. Every

ailment I have seems to be related to the liver/gall bladder -- am I

on the right track and can people please offer me some support? I am

on my own and am afraid. <<<

Hi " loisgen " ,

I've been on this list for a while, but have been so well since doing the

liver flushes 2 years ago, along with diet and exercise, that my symptoms

(biliary attacks) have completely abated and I've subsequently retreated to

observer

status.

Having said that, however, your email piqued my attention, as just recently,

I have found my cholesterol levels have increased significantly in just the

last year, in spite of all my best, concerted efforts. I have been seeing a

holistic doctor for bio-identical hormone therapy (for perimenopause) and I feel

this has something to do with this dramatic change in cholesterol and may be

just a temporary thing. In any case, he's put me on triple omegas/essential

fatty acids (Perque's Triple EFA Guard), which has increased my HDL (good

cholesterol) levels to very healthy levels. As he explained to me, it is the

ratio of

HDL to total cholesterol which is important to maintain. Mine is 4.1, which is

a little higher than the recommended 3.5. So, as a precautionary measure and

alternative to prescribed statins, he has suggested I try " Red Yeast Rice

Extract " , which is the natural base of statins without all the processing. It's

an

ancient Chinese medicine and works very effectively in lowering cholesterol,

but alas it still functions like a statin - so not beneficial to anyone who

suffers from side-effects. Although I haven't had any side-effects on the Red

Yeast Rice Extract, I'm not sure I'm comfortable with its mode of action and so

I've been considering other natural alternatives for lowering my total and LDL

cholesterol.

The one below looks promising and I'm going to give it a try, from X-tend

Life Natural Products, called " Cholest Natural " . If anyone here has heard of

this

product's efficacy or otherwise, I'd be most grateful to hear from you. The

stats offered at site seem to indicate that this product is completely

side-effect free and works more effectively at lowering LDL and triglycerides

(while

increasing HDL) than prescribed statins. It also works differently - rather

than blocking cholesterol production, as statins do, it increases bile flow -

the

site explains all:

Just as an aside...I have found it helps lower my fear/stress factor with

daily practices that help me to be more present...easy to say, I know, and I

don't mean this in any kind of offhand way, but the body functions as a holistic

energetic system and fear is like an energetic kick in the gut, hitting us

right in the solar plexus - stress causes us to be ill at ease (dis-ease) with

ourselves, which eventually manifests on the physical level as disease. Like

Dave

has said, you're so on track with everything you're already doing and have

trusted your inner wisdom thus far. So, you can do this by continuing your

journey of empowering yourself, as we all are aim for here, to heal our bodies

on

all levels.

Oh btw, I, too, was afraid of doing my first flush, but the healthful tips,

support and encouragement I received from the amazing folk here was just

tremendous and, in my case, GB saving....not to mention, releasing me from

continual

bloating, attacks that came in waves of crushing pain radiating through my

chest and stabbing back ache. I'm forever grateful to you all!

So, hang in there...it's a process of self-education and listening to your

own body and taking what resonates to you, a step-at-a-time, but it's well worth

all the time and effort. :) Flushing may not be your first course of action,

as many have offered here as good advice....sometimes it's better to start by

getting your liver in better shape, first. So, don't feel pressured or rushed

and just keep listening to your own instincts.

Peace, n

I've done many flushes and I'm still afraid to do them...the last time I did I

was throwing up nonstop for almost 2 hours and then I started to " choke " on my

own spit. I haven't done one since, about 2 months ago....

I was wondering if the flush would still work (obviously not as well) with a

lower dose of the olive oil? Instead of a cup of oil/lemon, how about 1/2 cup??

I haven't tried it yet, but maybe I will this weekend...unless anyone has any

experience/tips...

The flush I do consists of 1/2 cup olive oil mixed with 1/2 cup fresh squeezed

grapefruit juice. Drink it through a wide straw-it really does help. I believe

this is Dr. Hulda 's recipe. I also take epsom salts before and after. Go

to curezone.com for the complete instructions or search for Dr. Hulda

liver flush. I couldn't do the cup of olive oil either. I've only flushed 4

times so far, ... Tandra
