I always use apple juice as my base (because of the malic acid) and then I'll add other bits of fruit, like blueberries one day, pears the next, and then add a combination of a handful of celery, parsley and spinach or I've even today added dandelion greens, kale and sunflower sprouts/greens. Even with the strong taste of the kale and dandelions, the taste still wasn't bad. I despise/detest kale in any other form except in my green smoothies. Gosh, I've even added radish greens in the past few days just so I'm not just throwing them away (like I usually do). The sky and your imagination's the limit. I am not a raw foodist nor vegan (although I eat quite a bit raw), but I got the idea from two raw food sites -- rawfamily.com and fredericpatenaude.com -- I'm really enjoying the quick and easy way to get my vitamins and minerals.
