Hi,

I had my gallbladder removed about a year ago. I use to visit this group

often but I havent had any trouble in a year. Now I am having gallbladder

like pain again but my gallbladder is gone. What should I do? I need a diet

plan that wont cause me pain. I actually dont remember my passwords and all

to get to the group but still get emails through my email account.

I am having pain everyday again. Not sure what I should do.

Thanks,

Susie,

Can you tell me what exactly is in the Beta-Plus. You keep calling it

bile salts, but what salts are they. I can not seem to find anything in

my HFS locally.

My son had these very light poop. Taurine and milk thistle did not

make any difference, but dandelion was very-very helpful. It

increases bile production in the gall bladder and bile flow from the

liver.

Anne,

Don't know if you have tried this or not but I will quote some info out of

Dr. Shaw's book regarding light poops:

" Cholecystokinin (CCK) is another hormone produced by the cells of the small

intestine. CCK has a 32 amino acid structure that is similar to the hormone

gastrin. CCK stimulates the release of pancreatic enzymes, like secretin

does, and also stimulates the release of bile from the gall bladder.

Parents using over-the-counter CCK as an oral dietary supplement for their

children with autism or PDD have reported beneficial effects similar to

those of secretin. For use in children, 1/8 to 1/4 of a 100 mg capsule of

the CCK product is given exactly one hour the first bite of food with each

meal. Overdosage has caused panic attacks and appetite suppression. When

given at the beginning of the meal, pancreatic enzyme secretion begins

before the food reaches the small intestine and may cause rectal burning.

This product is a beef extract so food allergy to beef could cause severe

reactions. Parents of children with autism often report abnormal color of

their children's stool. The stool is frequently described as clay colored,

white or lightly colored. The brown color in normal stool is due to bile

pigments. Light or uncolored stools probably indicate an inadequate flow of

bile possibly due to inadequate stimulation of bile release from the gall

bladder due to deficient CCK. Many parents report the presence of " sand " in

their child's stool. This " sand " is probably due to the presence of

insoluble bile salts. The amount of " sand " is reported to increase

dramatically after secretin infusions probably because secretin stimulates

bile release. Bile salts containing taurine do not form this " sand " because

they are more soluble. Supplementation with taurine might be useful since

taurine is frequently low in the urine amino acid profiles of children with

autism. Children with light colored stools may be significantly deficient

in vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin E, and vitamin K due to inadequate amounts

of bile salts which aid in their absorption. Vitamin A palmitate, the

prevalent form of vitamin A, may be especially difficult to absorb since

bile salts are needed to remove the palmitate group before it is absorbed.

I hope this information is useful.

[ ] Re: liver help

Our poops were never white, but a light green/brown. We have had him

on taurine, milk thistle and phosphatidyl choline, but that didn't

help. I have little doubt that we have some dysbiosis, but I am also

concerned that we have some bile issues. I have added ox bile to try

to help in that regard. It is early to tell, but based on today's

poop, it looks like it might be a winner. Of course, we have been up

for two nights in a row at 3:00 am with belly aches, so it is not

without a price... Check in with me in a week or two and I will update

you....

I can imagine this! lol... Especially remembering that it is the

dandelion root you want!

I usually buy dried root and make home-made infusion, that is much

cheaper to me. But you can find dandelion root in capsuls or in

tincture form.
