Guest guest
Hi J I have EVERY symptom you listed...I've had it on and off since I was 15 (now 22). It comes back when I stop exercising and eating " bad " . I know A LOT of people who had their gb removed and still have all the symptoms. I think you should try cleansing/flushes first before you consider having it removed. After billions of years of evolution, we still have a gb shefy johnrio12 <johnrio12@...> wrote: Hello all I have just spent 2 days trawling through this forum it was a really interesting read and has given me a lot to work with. I have basically been looking for the different symptoms people experience with Gallstones. I myself have been diagnosed with a lot of gallstones after 8 months of nagging different doctors. My Symptoms are mainly 1 instance of bilary colic Major cramping in the abdomen (gets worse after eating) but is constantly a crampy feeling all day. Pain on the right side (sore to press most of the time) and sometimes left side under the ribs Pain in my right shoulder and neck And some times the cramps move into my chest tightning my chest making it harder to breath. I have had all the heart checked out and a lot of GI test the only thing wrong so far is a lot of gallstones. Of course the surgeon wants to take it out he is confident that they are the cause of all my symptoms saying that the text book symptoms are not always the case and gallstones can give a lot of different symptoms. If you all could explain your symptoms also if there are any out there who have had the surgery could you explain your symptoms also and whiter or not the surgery was successful for you. Guest guest
Shefy Thanks for the reply - I will try one but all I have read seems to me that it never really fixes the problem it just relives the symptoms for awhile if you are lucky. Have you had any tests done to give you any ideas as to what your symptoms are stemming from. J > > Hi J > > I have EVERY symptom you listed...I've had it on and off since I was 15 (now 22). Guest guest
Well I'm pretty sure it's my gallbladder. I had tons of tests done, barium xray, endoscopy, bloodwork, ultrasounds.... I am overall healthy and the only thing that seems that would be able to cause it is gallstones. It runs in my family also... I'm not sure if you read my other post but I'm trying to find a doctor who does the Methyl tert butyl direct injection treatment. It supposedly dissolves the stones within a few hours...however, Kaiser doesn't do this procedure anymore, at least that's what my doctor says... good luck shefy johnrio12 <johnrio12@...> wrote: Shefy Thanks for the reply - I will try one but all I have read seems to me that it never really fixes the problem it just relives the symptoms for awhile if you are lucky. Guest guest
Hi , It might be a bit early for me to inform you of successful relief of " everything " but here goes for what it's worth at this point. I just had my gall bladder removed on Monday. I didn't want to and tried to save it but was tired of feeling like I was dying and being rushed to ER with heart attack like symtoms in addition to all the cramping, bloating and gas. Even though I didn't want to lose my gall bladder, I must admit --- it is wonderful to be free of the chest pain. Also, like you my ) right)shoulder was killing me and the pain (and swelling) shot up all thru my neck and nothing I took gave me any relief. From the time I awoke from the surgery - all my neck and shoulder pain was TOTALLY gone and I could lift my arm again! No shortness of breath either. I don't have any pain from the gall bladder removal -- only from the umbilical hernia I had repaired at the same time - or at least it's in the belly button area. I did check out Dr. Mercola's site and totally agree that gall bladder surgery should be avoided if at all possible. That said, my stones were LARGE and I was in pain! Also check out his recommendations to use BILE SALTS as a fat emulsifier for those who longer have a gall bladder to store bile in. Oh by the way, I am picking up my actual gall stones on Tuesday so I can see for myself what they look like. If you request them, they must give them to you - just be sure to arrange it prior to surgery. I think doctors are way to cut happy and need to investigate the situation on a patient by patient basis, however I also believe (for me) I abused my poor gall bladder way to long to have it just bounce back. The pain was so intense and I KNOW it was affecting my Pancreas (left side) and my blood sugar. What this has done is inspire me to change my ways before I lose another organ -- one which doctors aren't going to dismiss so quickly as not being needed. God knew exactly what he was doing and I don't want to do any further damage to this temple! I'm following the eating plan at hacres.com and I believe that is why my recovery is going so well and I am feeling good. Be Well! It is not available where I live and probably wont until it has proven itself as an effective treatment. Best of luck J
Guest guest
Hi Deb Thanks for your reply - I am delighted to here that you have got relief from the surgery I dont know how long you have been living with it but I know how worring it is. Your similarity to me has given me a peace of mind as it looks like there is light at the end of the tunnel if I decide to go down that tunnel. Thanks again J
Guest guest
Thank you for putting in the information about your chest pain etc. After three years of pain and tests, etc. I am having my gall bladder removed on Friday. The duct (?) leading to it is blocked and has been for 3 years at least. In the past the symptoms have eventually left and I carried on as before. Not this time! I feel like I have been out of life for about a month or more. I am too uncomfortable, painful, etc to work and do alot of other stuff. Lately i feel like my hubby is taking care of the house, the kids, and me. Monday, the day I scheduled the surgery, the right side of my chest started to hurt. Mostly it is gone now, but if I yawn really big or take a really deep breath it still hurts. I was really concerned about this until I read your email. Now i know it is just an additional symptom. I have been eating much better for the last month. No carbonated beverages, very little fat, very little dairy, etc. It is a huge change and I will continue to work on it and learn to eat well all the time. I won't be going back to Coke or other sodas, or french fries, or all the sweets I love. I am learning extreme moderation and I know I will continue this into the future. So, in the end as much as I hate to loose my gall bladder I know it has done some major good in my life. I have learned (am learning) healthy eating. Thanks to everyone for this site and all the great helpful information!
