I am looking for some help/advice. At the end of 04 I was nauseous

all the time 24/7. Ultrasound showed no gallstones. Stomach got

scoped and no problems there. Then I went and had a test where they

shoot you up with dye and see how the gallbladder functions under some

giant x-ray (can't remember name of test). I was told that my

gallbladder emptying is down 50%. Something to do with it not

contracting enough. I did the olive oil lemon juice thing just in case

it might help me and it didn't do a dang thing except make me want to

vomit everytime I smell olive oil. Went through some stress and

hardly ate because of nausea and dropped 20 lbs (down to 120) in one

mo. Symptoms went completely away for 1 year and now they are back.

Dr. now suggests I get it removed and I do NOT want to have surgery.

I have done a little research and everyone has a different suggestion

on what herbs, diet, etc. to do. But I am finding that it is all

geared towards getting rid of gallstones. So I am looking to see if

anyone else has had this " emptying/contracting " problem and what has

worked for them. Thanks.

I am in your spot exactly. I am also interested in finding more info on

gallbladders that are not working as opposed to gallstones. My HIDA scan (what

you described) showed next to no function in my gallbladder. I have been doing

this for just over 2 years. This is my third bout. I am miserable!!! I have just

learned about the flushes and such. I am doing some medicine at the moment to

try to clear out my system as I am completely " backed up. " Once my system is

clean again I will then look into doing the flushes. But I tell you what, when I

feel this bad I am ready to just say " take it out! " Although no one can say that

this would solve our problems.

Thanks for getting this question out there.

  • 2 weeks later...

Don't get your gb removed unless it's a life or death situation. I was trying to

get my doctor to find out about the shockwave therapy to break up the stones and

the injection of something to dissolve the stones within a few hours....

2 weeks later he leaves me a voice message saying he spoke to 2 specialists and

they all say these treatments aren't available...AND i should just have it

removed and to give them a call to schedule the surgery. I was sooo pissed!

Well I'm still on the search for a doctor who performs these 2 treatments..I've

tried many flushes but I'm still having trouble with gb attacks...

Good luck and don't give up!

-Boy, I bet you were pissed! Sounds like your dr. is in training to be a

" look and see " proctologist on himself. These treatments are quite viable and

have been available for some time. To tell someone that they are not available

should put them on very soft legal ground.

Well I'm still on the search for a doctor who performs these 2

treatments..I've tried many flushes but I'm still having trouble with gb
