Guest guest
Well, today I realized I had lost a bit more weight (I haven't been using the scale lately, but could feel it in my jeans!) and I am officially at goal. I started at 327 and today I weight 191, so actually a bit below my original goal of 195. I was banded 38 weeks ago and have lost a total of 136 pounds. My BMI has gone from 43 to 24. I've dropped 18 pant sizes (from size 52 to 34). I've dropped all medication (type 2 diabetes, gout, high cholesterol, high blood pressure -- damn, the doctor was right, it was all weight related LOL). My weight lost was about 3.5 pounds per week as an average. In fact I lost the first 100 pounds between March and September and the last 36 pounds came off quite a bit slower over the past several months. Thanks to everyone for the honest conversations, support, direction and even the occasional squabbles that helped me so much. Being able to do things -- sit in an airplane seat, go on an amusement park ride, fit in a booth at a coffee shop, go to the movies, still on a stool, go horseback riding, swim, hike, bike, run, walk -- all of it -- is worth any deep-fried piece of doughy crap I've ever tasted. The most important thing for me personally -- for the first time ever I feel free -- food is no longer a factor for me at all -- scary and wonderful. Thanks again to everyone! Guest guest
Thanks Sarina, and thanks for all the support/info you and your Mom have given me. I hope you're Mom has it done, whether local or with Dr. Frering, it's made such a change in my quality of life. I am going to Europe on Sunday, February 20th, so if the fashion show is on the 18th or 19th and you'd like me in it, I'll be there!
Guest guest
Wow! GREAT JOB! , you have done so well and I am so proud of you. My mom wants to go to Dr. Frering now, too, although I am still trying to talk her into staying local. We'll see what happens. Thanks for being such an inspiration to all the newbies out there, especially the guys who must often feel like they are totally out-numbered!
