Guest guest
Very miniscule amounts are in the salt. Not enough for anything. Guest guest
How much salt should one use without overdoing it, in the recommended daily amt for salt intake department? > > Very miniscule amounts are in the salt. Guest guest
I take 1/2 - 1 tsp as a supplement plus use it on my food liberally. It is good for you salt. White salt is a totally different thing. Not good. I don't know that there is a limit. Guest guest
If you have salt sensitive hypertension, sodium should be limited to about 1,500 mg/day. Guest guest
Read Dr. Brownstein's book on Salt. He uses it to " fix " hypertension. Guest guest
Steph, I think it has fixed mine! Since I started taking it, I have been able to quit taking bp meds. I am dosing with 1/4 tsp twice daily. But am also using liberally on food. Wondering if I should increase to 1/2 tsp... I know it's a stupid question, but should we count the salt we use on food in our dosage? would be hard to measure. Lynn > > Read Dr. Brownstein's book on Salt. Guest guest
The low BP is probably from your adrenals and not just your thyroid, Hypoadrenalism also causes excessive thirst. Suggest you add licorice root (dgl) and more salt to diet and see it that helps. If you aren't on cortisol, you might want to read up on adrenal extract, also. Most importantly, I would find an endo that listens to you, if there is such a thing. > >> > >> If you have salt sensitive hypertension, sodium should be limited > to > > about > >> 1,500 mg/day. > >> > > I wish the reverse were true --- I have very low blood pressure > > (adrenal issues) -- and even a couple of teaspoons of salt has no > > effect on it. > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Hi Sherry, What helped me, as per Dr. Rind's instructions, was not only water, but water and *Celtic sea salt*. Water alone did not help me, in fact it often made me feel dizzier. I eat the sea salt like a piece of candy, several times a day, then take a drink of water. Real sea salt is amazing in taste too. I love it. Be sure you get real sea salt, it is gray in color. Hope this helps! Kathy L > > , > I am chiming in here too. I have very low BP as well.
