Most hypothyroids need to take a good dose of CoEnzymeQ10 Judith. This enzyme diminishes as we get older and is very important. Not sure what could be causing your dizziness Judith. You could contact Jane who runs the Malvern Clinic on 01684 894987 to see if you could get into Dhttp://www.mercurymadness.org/'s next clinic there.

Hi sheila, feeling a bit better today-4th April- but still a bit giddy when I go to bed.taking ginkgo biloba and siberian ginseng this is for concentration um.folic acid-B12, selenium with vit A,C.E in one pill, progesterone cream and for my rheumatoidarthritis -glucosamine chondritin MSM which also has vit C in it.4 grains thyroid-S also I have some coQ10 which i was taking last month, but not sure if i need this one. think my adrenals may be fluctuating a bit. no tests sincethe 24 hour one back a year or two ago. took adrenal 80 half tab for 3 months ,then stopped felt better , but then took some more after a 3 month break.not taking any now. taking a whole adrenal 80 makes me feel a bit spacey.!thinking I need to get some tests done to find out what is behind the vertigo .can put up with almost anything but that! I see Dr P has a clinic at melvern, where abouts is this situated Sheila? It may be an option, or I may try to see D r H in bristol. glad to see you all had a nice time at your meeting . lov angel.

One of the best and cheaper pharmacies to buy such things as CoEnzyme Q10 is www.iherb.com . I doubt you will do better anywhere.

One extra point about the Co-Enzyme Q10. I had my blood levels tested so I could discover whether I was actually low in CoQ10. The capsules are so darn expensive that I wanted to make sure that I actually needed them, plus I didn't want to supplement with another thing if my body was producing it naturally at a good level. The test results came back as quite low (outside ref range), so I started supplementing with 100mg of CoQ10 each day/every couple of days on an ongoing basis. Four months later I had the test done again and the levels were almost double the upper limit of the reference range. I felt absolutely fine, but I stopped taking the CoQ10 for a while.

HI Keri

I think that 30mg of CoEnzymeQ10 is just a maintenance dose, but it insufficient for hypothyroid sufferers who will probably find they have a very low reading. Your body stops making it during illness and it is essential to your well being and takes care of all sorts of things. You really do need to take a high dose (the dosages go up to 600 mgs or even 1000mgs for really ill people but high doses like that need to be supervised with a medical expert. You can take up to 300 mgs daily to get your levels to where they should be with no problem. This is the amount that takes specifically to help lower his cholesterol and BP (both of which are much lower now). He buy's his from www.iherb.com and are about the cheapest source you can find.

I had my blood levels > tested so I could discover whether I was actually low in CoQ10. Did you them privately or through the NHS. Dr P has just put me on 30 mg of CoQ10 but I am not sure why. Maybe a precaution or does someone else know better. Thanks.luv Keri

HI Keri and

Have a look at these links. These should explain to you why you need CoEnzyme Q10

http://www.inspiredliving.com/heart-cardio/coQ10-high-blood-pressure.htm

http://www.umm.edu/altmed/articles/coenzyme-q10-000295.htm

http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/coenzyme-q10/NS_patient-coenzymeq10

http://www.icqa.org/ICQA/CoQ10literature.html

I personally do not believe that 30 mgs is sufficient for sufferers of hypothyroidism or who have other associated conditions. But, you should read the available literature and learn to understand what CoEnzymeQ10 does.

Re: not feeling to good -

I bought the Nutri CoQ-10 ST 30 (20 mg E and 30 mg CoQ10) > I still don't understand why I am taking it .....Hi KeriDr P told me to take CoQ10 because it helped support the adrenals. I didn't know about all the other benefits til I read about them on here. I also take 30 mg. x

Hi F,

Yes winter is always grey! It's snowing at the moment- not lying

though. Some folk do try a small increase in meds during winter.

Subject: Re: not feeling to good -

Hi, can I just mention that if you are living in the UK, you have just

finished a long winter and I am wondering if you have a VitD3 problem.

Especially when you mentioned that you experience this each year.

Check out the info on VitD3 (which is a hormone) and the Vit D website

is great. www.vitamindcouncil.org

I would especially draw your attention to this if you are experiencing

aches and pains and depression

Glad to have you back online - and I hope you get your problems sorted soon. When do you see Dr Peatfield - is this the beginning or the end of June?

>> HI Keri and > > Have a look at these links. These should explain to you why you need CoEnzyme Q10Cor Sheila! It's like a wonder pill! I had no idea it could do all that. Thanks for the links. Sorry to take so long to reply. Just moved house - what a palaver! Was worried how the old adrenals would cope but seem to have done ok, give or take a few wobbles. Been offline for two weeks apart from a couple of brief visits to the computer in the library, so am just catching up.Am preparing now to do all the tests - again! - before seeing Dr P inJune. Absolutely must get to the bottom of what's going on. For financial reasons I've had to hold back for a few months. Quite disheartening when you're desperate to get well. But it's all systems go now, so fingers crossed! x
