That can't be helping. I know I feel worse if I lose my routine. Hope you feel better soon. I'm doing OK thanks for asking, but glad when I've got through this episode. I'll keep an eye out for your post later. Hoping you feel brighter when you wake. Wish I could say something more helpful but try not to worry about things that might never happen. Guest guest
HI I hope you are ok and I will look for your post later, do you usually take your armour at 2am? I guess by doing that you dont really know what day to make that dose, if in doubt I wouldnt take anymore until a new day, I mean in the morning of a new day and that way you can start a regular routine and try and stick with it. It seems your 'body clock' is a bit out and you are sleeping and getting up at different times to everybody else and then when you wake you dont know if you have taken your armour or not and that could cause you to double dose without realising, I think routine is the key here. The confusion could be because you are sleeping in the day and then waking up feeling dissorientated, I know that feeling and its awful. Take care and hope to hear from you soon, I know I havent been that helpful, not really sure what else to say to help From: blondiethefirstuk <whitbywitchuk@...>Subject: Losing it again hlepthyroid treatment Date: Thursday, 24 July, 2008, 5:35 AM I went to bed this morning and read until 2 30 yesterday afternoonthen went to sleep. Guest guest
Hello Dearest Dawn, I don't use Armour so I can't comment on your dose, but I just wanted to mention something. In your message, you were concerned about having another episode that might land you in hospital. Even though this might not help too much, the way I look at it is to take each day at a time and know that nothing stays the same for too long, and that this will pass. As you know, some days can be awful with this thyroid stuff and then the next day the symptoms and mental fogginess and confusion can abate and then things get better again. I think this thyroid stuff can be a bit like a yo yo or a see saw - up and down and in between all the time. Also, you are not where you were when you went into hospital last time, as time has moved on and you are in a different place with your health and in your life. If you feel really lousy, is there a doc that you can talk to, to get some assistance with the doses and your symptoms? It may be good to have a chat to a doc, to alleviate your worries about the symptoms, etc. Maybe you can send a private email to Sheila to see if she can help in some way or suggest a doc who can. I am really thinking about you. I just said a little prayer for you and sent a huge amount of good vibes your way. Big Hug from P > >........but I am very confused and feel sick. I dont know what I have done, have I taken too much or not enough and do I start on normal amount again tomorrow or should i take into acount what i took tonight or does that count as yesterdays? I feel a little dissacociated and I keep fortgetting things really badly. Ihave a frontal headache again and I feel sick again. Don't want another of those horrible episodes where I ednded up in hospital.
Guest guest
Hello again I am still not right. Thanks for your lovely support. I have a little pressure in my head. I did take another 1/2 grain about 1/2 hour ago because I am afraid I might be going really hypo. I have been on 90 for a long time now and being asleep for so long yesterday not sure I hve the reserves or even if mybody bothers to convert any more. that is why I was trying to put up dose. I am having problems takin a complete breath I dn't know whether that is hypo or adrenal. I have been poorly wiht this virus now for nearly 10 days which could be knocking me out of wack. I don't like disorientation it is scary. Reasons I am so bad with my sleeping i don't know ubt I have been like that for a long time now. I was more nocturnal waking at tea time though than middle of night like last night or rather this morning. I really don't know where I am. I am trying not to panic. I have that slight headache again and very large bags under the eyes, feel as though my head is swollen. Of course it can't be I suppose. I know when I am sleeping i am dehydrating perhaps electolytes are off too I really don't know what is going on. I would ring up doctor but I don;t see the point really they never know what is wrong. I am definately going to try and get my routine on now that I have managed to wake up during the day, that will be good. I know in the STTM book it says holding a dose too long can result in hypo coming back atcha with a real vengence adn that might be what has happened. Sorry for big block of text. Any advice gratefully acccepted. Perhpas I should lay off the niacin? That is the only thing extra Itook over last couple of days except an extra half grain of Armour. lotsa luv Dawnx
Guest guest
Hi Pat hon I got ur prayer thankyou. It is abating amazingly, I put on some hc cream and some prgesterone cream very small dose and as the armour kicked in as well it seems to have helped a lot, along with P vibes . I think it is a combo of everything. And you are right, this time different place, and different treatment. So bad what hormones can do, trouble is when I lose my marbles I aren't sure what to do to help myself. Unfortunately Ihave no doc that would be able to help at all, nor even reassure because teh local docs I talk to haven't a clue about any of this stuff. I think of the top of mi head I might need stronger adrenal support, maybe isocort would be a good one for now. Trouble is I ahve no idea where to get it from without paying nearly 15 quid for postage which I cannot afford. Maybe someone on here might know of a place to order from? I was just about to email Shiela as my brain began to return. Thanks so much for all your helps. Still got a bit of pressure in there but it is nothing in comparison with what i had. lotsa luv and hugs and thanks Dawnx
Guest guest
Hi Dawn I understand what you mean about not knowing whether you have taken too much or not enough. It seems so hard to know which way up you are with this disease... Have you taken your pulse and temperatures? I find that taking these regularly helps reassure me that despite the fact I may be feeling edgy or a bit palpy I haven't taken too much. I don't know where you are with your raises etc. but I know that you had a TSH of 30 odd recently despite being on some Armour so unless you have raised to huge amounts you are unlikely to be on too much. I too have had a cold this week and have had a bit of a strange week with sleep. I think it probably does affect things. Anyways I hope you start feeling better soon (((DAWN))) Leah x > > > >........but I am very confused and feel sick. Guest guest
Perhpas I should lay off the > niacin? That is the only thing extra Itook over last couple of days > except an extra half grain of Armour. Dawn, I'd definitely lay off the niacin. I'm not saying you might not need it eventually but at least if you stopped it and you felt better you'd know it was that. Often this is about a process of elimination, especially when on so many things and more especially after introducing something new. A little of something new often floors me, out of all proportion to the amount I've taken. I don't know if anyone will agree but it seems logical to me in the first instance to eliminate the niacin as a possible contributor for how you are feeling. Love to you x
Guest guest
Yes I will do that. I am also going to leave out the Q10 for a while too even though I have been on that a couple of days longer it may have built up so better safe than sorry eh? Don't want this again it is a pain. I am also very very tired even though I only got up 3 and a quarter hours ago, feel doped. Thanks lotsa luv Dawnx
Guest guest
Hi Nice to hear from you and sorry your still not feeling right, I know what you mean about the dissorientated feeling, I still have to some degree, its more like 'being there but not there' if you know what I mean, but its not half as bad as it used to be, tiredness makes it worse for me. I was under the impression that your body doesnt have to convert when you are taking armour? I may be wrong though, but doesnt it contain all the hormones and you dont need to convert the T4 to T3? I thinkj getting yourself into some routine may help, get up at the same time and go to bed at roughly the same time, your body clock will adjust to that eventually, wish I could help more, take care of yourself though From: blondiethefirstuk <whitbywitchuk@...>Subject: Re: Losing it again hlepthyroid treatment Date: Thursday, 24 July, 2008, 3:06 PM Hello againI am still not right. Guest guest
You are all so lovely, thankyou xxx Thanks for showing that to Dr P Shiela, I see where he is coming from yes. I have no idea whether it is that or whether I am having Seroxat problems after seeing this page http://www.medications.com/se/paxil people with confusion and much of the stuff I went into hospital with to some digree apart from nobody there was speaking gibberish yet. Does Dr P have any tips for coming off Seroxat? I hate to ask but I want to come off and I am afraid. But I think it is messing with my head more and more, maybe it keeps working then stopping, oh I dont know, I am clutching at straws heer. Perhaps I just need Isocort or something for my adrenals stronger. Perhaps I am just going mad? I love you all thanks so much for your support. I will try to sleep better hours now, at least I got up during the day today. lotsa luv Dawnx
Guest guest
Hi Dawn, Corlan Pellets by Celltech are cheap enough and over-the-counter (2.5mg) so not on prescription. Best use is for aphthous (mouth) ulcers; ask for them for that purpose, anyway. At a push, they'd give you a clue...they are hydrocortisone tabs. On the niacin front, I thought about the way it's produced in the body (from tryptophan); it's about 1 of niacin from 60 tryptophan molecules. So, 1000mg of tryptophan would (in theory) provide about 16mg of niacin (guaranteed to be bio-available). How much niacin as a supplement gets through a compromised gut is anybody's guess....and maybe why so much is needed. SSRIs interfere with the release and metabolism of serotonin (arises from tryptophan) ~ too much serotonin would tend to cause a rise in melatonin (which makes you go to sleep). Figuring this backwards, too sleepy ~ too much melatonin, hence, likely > too much serotonin ~ could the consumed niacin be blocking conversion down the tryptophan > niacin route? Causing too much serotonin to be made? ~ just a thought ... http://www.theroadback.co.uk/ best wishes Bob > > Hi Pat hon >

Guest guest
Thanks Bob I should hold off that then. No more niacin. That experience sounds very reasonable Bob, sensible. I went to that withdrawal site once before, I was really considering it but the products that they sell to do it are really really expensive and my poor brain couldn't work out how to get hold of same from elsewhere, you know what my brain fog is like hon. The principle is sound the nutrition side. I would need to plan it really carefully with all the things I am on and I am really scared I would muck it up (sob). That is the most hopeful site yet though Bob, it seems it can be more painless that way. Guest guest
HI I do know they can give you liquid prozac to help with the final stages of ad withdrawal, it is an easy one to stop taking as it has the longest half life of all the SSRI's and withdrawal is relatively easy compared with seroxat and some of the others. I have stopped taking 3 ad's in mylife and if I can do it you can, just keep telling yourself that withdrawal doesnt last forever and it will get better From: blondiethefirstuk <whitbywitchuk@...>Subject: Re: Losing it again hlepthyroid treatment Date: Friday, 25 July, 2008, 5:21 PM Thanks I will try, and I will see if the doc can give me liquid, might makeit easier if they do one. cheers againluv Dawnx Not happy with your email address? Guest guest
And seroxat too! Both are linked in with increasing depressive thoughts in young people. Worse, the young person's brain chemistry may be affected for life as it is not too clever to tamper with brain chemistry while the brain is still developing. The really sick thing is that the drug companies consider normal teenage moodiness and insecurities as medicatable. These drugs are prescibed to kids with school phobias and simple shyness. Totally immoral IMO! Tracey > > They give prozac to kids?! OMG! Ruth x >
