Hi, I'm a, 33 y.o. F in Seattle WA.

I was banded a week ago today on 8/26/04 (on my honeymoon!!!) by Dr.

Rumbaut in Monterrey, Mexico. I am working with Surgical Weight Loss

Clinic (Dr. Fox's practice) in Tacoma WA for follow-up.

I have the support of my new husband and I've told two colleagues at

work who are both post-RNY. I plan to tell my best friend this

weekend because otherwise she won't understand why I'm not eating

with her on her birthday.

I have not told my family or anyone else... yet. Still deciding who I

will tell, and when.

I had great difficulty with the clear liquids only for my first week

past banding. Dr. Rumbaut's diet is much more lenient than Dr. Fox's,

but Dr. Fox gets better WL statistics too. I just couldn't survive on

clear liquids only, so I added in drink yogurt and a couple of cream

soups. Today I'm supposed to start on protein & vitamins. I already

started the protein a few days ago, but the wrong kind (Slim Fast Low

Carb). I guess the sin in that is that it's somewhat higher calorie

than the powders I'm supposed to use, and I can't be sure it provides

the amino acids I'm supposed to have. Hopefully we'll be able to find

a good " allowed " protein at the store tonight and get my vitamins

started.

I'm also having a great deal of difficulty drinking the required 64-

96 oz of water a day! Yikes. But I'm trying.

I have to start exercising - Dr. Fox requires 30 min. per day. Still

healing from surgery so we may try to go for a walk tonight, but gee

whiz I'm fatigued fast from just moving around. BTW I started back to

work Monday, less than a week out of surgery, so I'm not lying around.

By the way, is there any clever way to not have to retype the vitals

in my signature? I appreciate reading this sort of thing on other

people's posting signatures but it's a pain to always retype.

Welcome a,

One of the questions that is often offered by pre-bandsters is " how

soon can we have sex again " . Getting a band on your honeymoon makes

that an even more interesting question, but NO, I'm not asking. I've

always figured that people can figure that out for themselves, and can

be as creative as they need or want to be.

All depends on your email program. If you're using Outlook Express or

Eudora or others, then they have an option of a signature file, or

something with a similar name. If you're doing it on the web, it'll

all depend on the web interface you're using. Try the HELP menu of

whatever method you're using.

As to protein drinks, I'd not worry about calories at this point, as

you're not consuming many anyway.
