Guest guest
Hi Ted, I have had this problem, and first thought the batteries were duds. Not so. Take the battery cage out of the CI, and remove batteries.each compartment has a small brass contact, hanging from side or top. Use a small screwdriver to gently bend them out or down, so that they press more firmly on the battery surface. Worked for me, I now do it routinely, now and then. > > I use the 675 Power One Implant Plus disposables. Guest guest
Ted, Best thing to do is to call Cochlear. I am very sure they will do all that is possible to remedy the situation. I use those batteries in my nucleuscontour 24 and they go about 50 hours. Seems to me the problem is the CI or mapping. Let us know what the solution is later...Barry in PA. > > I use the 675 Power One Implant Plus disposables. Guest guest
Thanks, . Its in the Dry & Store at the moment, I'll have a look at this tomorrow. Guest guest
Thanks, Barry. I'll try what suggested first and if that doesnt fix the problem, I'll ask them to send me another battery cage. Guest guest
I had had that problem, Ted and it was a power hungry MAPping that needed to be adjusted.
Guest guest
Yes it depend on what mapping you have and it use more power to make battery not last too long on different mapping... I had that problem myself. It just the mapping you have and it depend how long is battery life on mapping you have. -- Re: Re: Possible Battery Problem - Freedom I had had that problem, Ted and it was a power hungry MAPping that needed to be adjusted. Guest guest
I know that some mappings take a LOT of power, but I'm sure there's none that will cause batteries to expire in three hours or less. I'm inclined to think it's the cage also. I have three cages and two blue keychain battery holds, so am constantly rotating. After the cage, I think it would be time to check out the processor itself. Guest guest
I've been using this same Map for months now, . I dont think its anything to do with that. The contacts are probably the problem, I'll check that out when I fetch it out of the Dry & Store. Guest guest
Yes, I'm starting to believe its the battery cage too. Methinks I should get a spare one any way. Its a good job I had plenty of batteries and even better that the $31.50 a year that I pay, covers maintenance and all batteries :-) Ted F.
