Guest guest
Dear Friends I am writing first time in this group. My son Taha has been implanted with nucleus 24 with Espirit at the age of 5 years i.e in Nov. 2006. He has been ok with the implant and initially shown good results. For initial 6 months his response and progress was very good. But later on the progress was not satisfactory. Rather it stuck to a point and never improved beyond that. Additionally with the time he started feeling Loudness problem. Each time we went to the audiologist, he has to increase the current levels to increase the volume or loudness. This problem has been persistent. And after one year another problem started and that was the his listening was good only at WHISPER. I mean when we switch to WHISPER-mode he was fine but not at M-mode and complained about weeker sounds. And now after two years the implant is working only in Whisper mode. At M-mode he is totally unhappy and complains about very low sound. Me and my audiologisst are completely clueless about this problem . Does anybody has some knowledge about this problem. I am residing in Pakistan where there is no better 2nd opinion available. Any help will be appreciated.
