Guest guest
Tami, Thank you so much for the advice and encouragement. I have no problem in waiting to see the results. When you are obese; it takes a very long while to notice; especially at my weight. Just feeling better is my goal. I am going to work with the tape a lot this weekend and Sunday night I'll let you know how I'm doing with it. I will not be measuring myself; but when it happens; I will be able to tell. And I think on another list that I 'lurk' on; I read about LL helping with sleep! Gosh I need that. Here is a big problem I have; SLEEP! I work midnight shift for the past 9 years (and I really do love my job and don't want it any other way); but my sleeping habits are as poor as ever. I never seemed to require much sleep anyway; but the older I get (I just turned 43) I want more sleep; at least more than 4-5 hours a day. I sleep perhaps 1-3 hours in the morning when I get home; then I start my day; and go back to bed in the late afternoon for a few more hours. My body will not sleep 6 hours in a row during the day. I guess your body clock just never adjusts to a midnight shift. I also eat a lot of carbs; which I'm sure isn't that good for me. So I am working on a lot of changes here; but the year 2000 is for me! I have a lot of support from my darling husband; who really is a treasure. He also wants to start the LL. Actually, so does my sweetie pie of a daughter. They both do quite a bit of yoga; and love the deep breathing exercises. Take care all! Guest guest
Welcome Wanda, I am so glad that you decided to join us! I, too have had many " starvation " periods in my life, causing it to be very difficult to see any results when trying to become smaller. Due to our harming our metabolism, the inch loss may be a bit slower than some others that have not had our history. I did my breathing for quite sometime before I saw the inches starting to come off. I did, however, start to reap the healing benefits of LL from the first day. Be patient with yourself and please don't give up if the results are not instantaneous. THEY WILL COME!!! Many times, I have found, that if it takes a little more time to achieve something, the rewards are that much more beautiful and permenant. I am officially 'out of lurkdom' and would like to introduce myself to this list. I am Wanda; I live in the Midwest. I have been battling my weight for a quite a few years now; and due to many, many diets (for lack of a better word) I am larger than ever. Due to being obese; I find it difficult to do much of any exercise; breathing can be difficult. I had purchased BF a while back; but the breath is just so harsh so me; I would start an asthma attack each time I made the attempt. Because of that; I basically put breathing exercises out of my mind until recently. A wonderful person bought me a LifeLift tape as a gift; and I have been working with this breathing technique this week. The same friend gave me great ideas for weight loss as well. I am most thankful to her; and Rashelle, I'd also like to thank you for reading my personal emails and responding with such concern and support. I am going to stick with this; and would love your support. Times get difficult when you have just so very much weight to drop. Thankfully, I am a very positive person. So Hello to everyone! Guest guest
Rashelle, You are so right! There are many times when people who have dieted benefit with inch loss immediately from the boost the oxygen gives them. I know that no matter what the case, Wanda's dreams and goals will come to pass because this system really works. I am very glad that you pointed this out, I certainly wouldn't want to discourage anyone. And Wanda, you do have the best coach sitting in your corner! Guest guest
Hi Wanda, I am so happy you decided to join this list. I plan to do as much as possible to make it extra special. Since it is a brand new list it will be fun welcoming all the new people who come to us. What a wonderful message. I just want to come there and hug you. You are so willing and open to making this work that it makes me want to do anything and everything I can to help. The message I just posted to Tami should have included you. I could feel your heart open up as I read this post. You were so willing to open up and let us know who you are. I wrote in an earlier post that I have read several statistics that have proven that those who get weekly support actually lose three times more weight than those who try to go it alone. I am so glad that you are part of our "dream team" We will all help in making each others' dreams come true. What a beautiful concept. To think that just by sharing and caring that we might be able to make a difference in someone else's life. Thanks for being here, and Welcome! You have our support. That is a given. Guest guest
Tami, What you said was not discouraging, it was an honest assessment of the possibilities. It is good to point out something when you recognize it as the truth. This way Wanda or anyone else who may read your post will know that this is not about a quick fix, this is about solving real problems so you can have permanent success. The wonderful thing is that in the end, what we can expect here for Wanda and everyone else, is the results they are after. They are within their reach, they are within the reach of all of us. We are just here to lift each other to make the distance between the goal and the beginning a little easier to reach. Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Thanks for your honest posts. I finally feel comfortable enough to speak up about my experience with Lex (and others). It seems like I get depressed every few years, and my family doctor will prescribe an AD and a couple months of therapy. The longest (before now) I ever stayed on an AD was 4 weeks. I tried Paxil (great for anxiety but I sure zoned out of life); Wellbutrin made me feel like I was zooming around out of control; and Prozac was like Paxil. So this go around, there was an actual trigger to my depression (DS, 16, got into heavy duty trouble, etc.) and I knew I would be a basket case. Let me first tell you that usually I am a very strong person. But over the years, after being raised by abusive adoptive parents, I know my limitations. Well, in July the family doctor put me on 10mgs of Lex so I wouldn't cry at my desk all day...I had some breakthrough crying jags so he upped it to 20. After a couple weeks I felt guilty for being on meds, that I should just face the world, and trailed off to zero...BIG MISTAKE. Went back on 10mgs, but I recently visited a psychiatrist to tailor my meds because I told my therapist I didn't like them, they weren't helping much, and I haven't slept right in months. The psych had me go back to 20 and gave me Sonata to sleep. Sonata kept me up more! So a few days ago she added 15mgs of Restoril and I finally feel I have the right combination (for now). Side effects from Lex - first few weeks I had excessive sweating, some nausea, and trouble with sex. The only one I have occasionally now is hand sweating and I feel OK with the sex I think because I am getting good sleep. Alcohol, I am a social drinker, a couple glasses of wine a couple times a week and a few beers on the weekend. Well, I have to drink a lot less or I don't remember anything. Certainly don't drive at all, and if you're home, a word of advice - don't answer the phone...hahaha...it might be important and you won't remember...and we don't need guilt on top of depression. Well, I will stop now. Thanks again everyone! Joyce

I'd like to jump in here. , I think that Den's advice is for the most part sound. You quote him as saying, " Stop speculating about something that can not be changed. " I agree. I would add, " Stop speculating, PERIOD. " How do you or Den know that Jim had a death wish? Could you read his mind? Is it true that people even HAVE death wishes? You might not know that many psychological tenets that people take for granted as true and self-evident have been shown to be completely false. The " death wish " idea came from Freud. Scholars after him showed that most of his " psychological truths " were based on a sampling of less than five people -- and usually only ONE or TWO. Also, not many people outside the specialized field of psychology are aware that Freud extrapolated his own personal history onto everyone else. I know this because it's my field and my background. (See the book, A MOTE IN FREUD'S EYE.) From our limited 3D perspetive, it's sometimes hard to imagine why people do what they do. It's even more difficult to see a grander design to things. That's why I don't try to figure things out on this level anymore. I agree that it's productive to focus on learning from Jim's personal healing journey, on realizing that ozone therapies are just one tool in the healing toolbox, and on realizing that healing is not just an issue of bio-chemistry. In fact, Jim may very well have been healed at the level he needed healing the most -- the spiritual level. As I said, it's pointless to speculate. Now, for the final point to which Saul reacted so strongly (if impolitely): that his being on the list is like the fox guarding the henhouse. Saul does have his biases. So does Den. Den is another ozone hardware supplier. The point here, , is that you in effect said to Saul, " Saul, I don't trust your motives. " Saul reacted by being hurt and lashing out in a highly unproductive manner. At some point, perhaps people may need to address the issue of an ozone equipment supplier moderating this list. However, I don't think that now is the time. Jim was Saul's friend, and Saul is in mourning. Also...if you have a question about Saul's ability to be objective, , it might help if you courteously *asked* him about SPECIFIC issues related to ozone therapy and/or equipment, instead of using a quote from another person to attack him. Guest guest
The " fox guarding the henhouse " was a little over the top, and does not apply here. If Saul or " Anyone " were making laws that Must be followed, I could understand that conflict of interests must be avoided. But, after all, this is just a list group for likeminded people to share ideas. People on this list are mature and intelligent enough to discern what is best for themselves. By now, everyone knows Saul sells o3 generators, and most know who the competition is. If this were to become a " customers only " list, it would quickly become obvious. Guest guest
Saul has a list, ozonetherapy, where he actively moderates. He was already co-moderator of this list. And probably taking care of it mostly in the last months if Jim was that sick. I don't see any problem. He let that silly post through, that used a competitor's email to attack him, and openly expressed his opinion.

Guest guest
First, my heart goes out to in her difficulty processing Jim's death. I'm sure many of us are deeply stricken by this loss. And while I share 's concern for the free exchange of information and her propensity for " lurkdom, " I think she must not know Saul very well. However, I welcome her commentary on the list. Given a level playing field (something it doesn't get in the mainstream), truth will hold its own. I find it interesting that 's post comes under banner of truth. Not that I doubt her sincerity. And under other circumstances her concerns regarding conflict of interest may well be justified. But in over 5 years of watching Saul Pressman on three mailing lists, one of which he moderates, experiencing him in personal business dealings, and engaging him in personal correspondence, I have never seen him out of integrity, and really don't think the so-called opportunity (I'd call it responsibility) of oxyplus moderatorship is going to corrupt him. In the unlikely event that should happen, then we might deal with it at that time. ly, I can't think of anyone less likely to be corrupted by power than Saul Pressman, and I can't think of anyone better qualified to moderate oxyplus. And while Saul's on-list response to 's oblique indictment may not have been the most productive response he could have made, I agree with his premise that her contention is invalid in his case. Another thing to keep in mind is that Saul is sensitive on the subject of Den Rasplicka because of a long history in which Den has been less than honorable in business dealings with Saul. In conclusion, I'd like to take a detailed look at Den's points: ===== .....please, deliver to them the following message: The best way to honor Jim is to: 1). Stop speculating about something what can not be changed ===== While honoring Jim is well and good, it is not all that's going on here. The consideration of self-destructive psychology (in this case, " death wish " ), whether or not it played a part in Jim's death, is a valid topic of discussion on a healing list and a topic that has direct relevance to some, if not many of us. I'll be posting further on this as it applies to myself. And if you look, you will see that the topic was introduced using the stimulus of Jim's death constructively to raise questions regarding self destructive psychology in general, as it may apply to all of us, or at least as it applies to some of us. I think it's simply a misconception on 's and Den's part (and Den is apparently getting his information about current oxyplus message traffic filtered through ) that consideration of " death wish " psychology in relation to Jim's death is aimed at anything other than exploring the subject as it may apply to the still living, toward healing existing self-destructive psychology. ===== 2). Focus on learning from Jim's personal healing journey ===== I wholeheartedly agree. ===== 3). Realize that ozone therapies are just one tool in the healing toolbox ===== While I agree with Den here that ozone therapies aren't the only tool in the healing toolbox, I take exception to the word " just, " because ozone therapies happen to be a *particularly powerful* tool in the toolbox. ===== 4). Realize that healing is not just an issue of bio-chemistry ===== Again, agreed. Den makes some good points. Self destructive psychology is part of that mix. ===== 5). Realize that having Saul and/or any other ozone hardware producer/supplier as new moderator is like having a fox guarding chicken house. ===== I think we all tend to project our own values and way of relating to things onto others, expecting them to do as we ourselves do in any given situation. Those with integrity tend to expect integrity of others; those prone to take advantage of others tend to expect others to try to take advantage also. I don't doubt Den's sincerity in making this statement, and I feel he means well, and I even feel he would be right in many cases. But I feel he's disqualified in this case by virtue of his personal conflict with Saul and his propensity to psychologically project his own culpability. If he himself were in Saul's present position regarding ozone machine dealership and oxylist moderation, I think we might have something to worry about. In signing off, I want to express my appreciation for 's sharing her concerns. I hope she will continue to post. I think the present thread provides as good an example as any illustrating the value of free exchange of thought and the inadvisability of censorship.
