Guest guest
Dana; Thanks. I couldn't remember any dreams last night. Just awoke with terrible anxiety and my OCD wasn't the greatest today or in the past few days. I have forgotten what it was like to awake without anxiety in a very long time. My psychiatrist increased my liquid lexapro to 2.5mg every 3 days. So, tonight I start the new dosage. My psychiatrist will not go any faster with the lexapro, wants to titrate slowly so that I will be able to tolerate it. So I have to tolerate the OCD and anxiety as best as I can until I can take the theraputic dosage and begin to feel better... >From: " danarose1950 " <danarose1950@...> >Reply-Lexapro >Lexapro >Subject: Re: Dreaming and Lexapro >Date: Wed, 04 Feb 2004 23:17:32 -0000 > >You know what ........ my trauma therapist used this technique >with me. Guest guest
Dana; It jolts me right out of sleep, panic/anxiety...I shake, rattle and roll! thinking something catastrophic will happen...I think it's the OCD breaking through. I just wake up filled with panic/anxiety. The only way I can get over it is to get out of bed, get ready to get out of the house...because if I hang around I find things to ruminate about and it makes my OCD worse. My OCD therapist and psychiatrist said it might be all the changes going on right now, the move, not sure if it had anything to do with the new increase in the Lexapro last night. I am now at 2.5 mg liquid Lexapro every 3 days at night along with the klonopin. The increase might have spiked the OCD symptoms and anxiety. I questioned my psychiatrist if we can speed up the dosage, like every day and he said flat out NO!!! WE have to go slowly. The last Doctor really made things worse with the medications. I have an appointment with my OCD therapist tomorrow afternoon and we will try to explore what is going on. > > > > > > > > > > > > > Could be and I hate to burst y'alls bubble <G> > > >but the > > > > > > > > >dreaming > > > > > > > > > > >is > > > > > > > > > > > > a side effect > > > > > > > > > > > > > of Celexa and as Lexapro is a new version of > > >Celexa > > > > >it > > > > > > > > >follows > > > > > > > > > > > > that alot of the > > > > > > > > > > > > > sides are similar. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I had the most vivid dreams while taking > Celexa. Guest guest
There is something I once heard about. Most heart-attacks and babies are born in the last quarter of our sleeping cycle. When hormones start to get the body ready for wake up this can cause a surge of adrelinine in the body. Adrelinine, for me anyway, causes extreme anxiety and panic. Has your pdoc ever considered your having a sleep study done? Since OCD is neurbiological I am thinking that you may have a sleep disorder. A neurologist usually performs this. There is one disorder called night terrors.......... makes me go hummmmmmmmmmmm. Just a thought............. since you will be seeing your OCD doc, ask him........ see what he says.........
