Guest guest
Hello Faiv ~ ~ Sounds like you are taking good care of yourself. I would rather live without dependency on medication too, so I empathise with you, but I don't have a choice if I want to function and be productive, but that's me, LOL. I wish you well going back on Lex and take it real slow so the sides' don't discourage you. For me, I started out too high and had to decrease to eliminate most of the sides. Guest guest
thanks Dana, I started very low tonight (2.5 mg) 1/4 pill. And I feel pretty wired and spaced after only a few hours. I feel pretty bad actually right now. But I know the drill... Lex is at least twice as strong as Celexa. Guest guest
I discovered that with liquid Lexapro you could start at a lot lower dosage and inch your way up. By teasing the dosage you can control your side effects, instead of cutting pills. I also started taking the liquid form once every other day too. Check with your pdoc and see about that one. Guest guest
Faiv, you could have written my first posting here for me. You describe my symptoms perfectly. This will be my third trial with Lexapro. I was in the clinical trials two and a half years ago and did very well on the drug. I don't recall significant side effects, and I felt so much better (my anxiety was on the mild side then). I started the drug again about a year ago and kept it up for about six months. I quit because I was convinced, about mid-summer, that I didn't need it anymore. The last six mos. have been really very easy. I felt fine until just the last couple weeks, when the anxiety, which started as a trickle with sighing, muscle tension, etc., suddenly grew into an overwhelming flood of apprehension and mental fuzziness. I am relieved to hear you, Faiv, describe the " 'electric motor' feeling, the dizziness and headaches " ; while I don't typically have headaches, the dizziness and feeling that I'm just on overdrive, but not in a productive way, have really hurt me this past week. Wish me luck. I hope you're staying the course and improving, Faiv. JDH > Hi, > I have put off going back on Lexapro since early December because i have been on > it (and Celexa) before.
