Hi ,

How long have you been at 10mgs? Are you just starting out?

It sounds typical. Psychiatrists have unshakeable faith in their medecines.

Its possible Lexapro is giving you more anxiety although maybe your pdoc

isnt considering you as one of a minority of people who have adverse

reactions to it. Normally pdocs discount increased anxiety over things that

we are experiencing/feeling but are not fully aware of, if that makes sense.

I mean your doctor is probably assuming your increased anxiety is coming

from somewhere else, he may or may not be right, but his response is typical

of pdocs, just up the meds....goes back to their unshakeable belief in the

effectiveness of meds.

It really could be breakthrough anxiety as opposed to anxiety caused

by the meds. Since you're been on lex for 4 months, the initial

side effects should be long gone. Perhaps lexapro isn't working for

you. Maybe your doc can switch you over to something else.
