Guest guest
Hi everyone! Well, so far I've been doing great on lex! I couldnt ask for anything more from it at this point! But, last Thurs. I went to my doc to talk about losing some of the weight I gained (over 50lbs) on celexa. She prescribed xenical for me. I have been taking it regularly since last Fri, and am happy to say the side effects like going to bathroom after you eat really isnt bad at all as long as I dont eat too much fat per meal. What xenical does is it stops your body from absorbing 30% of the fat you eat each meal you take the xenical with. So, if you eat too much fat, you have to go to the bathroom, if you watch your fat intake you dont have to go to the bathroom. Also, there is a registered dietician that emails you every day to give you motivation/support, and menu's and recipes for low fat foods, and she also put me on a 1700 calorie a day diet. I have no problems with the foods I can eat, they fill me up, and I feel a lot better knowing I'm eating healthy. The diet she put me on should have me losing anywhere form 1-2 pounds per week according to the dietician. I'm ok with this, but I think that this could take me forever to lose the weight I want to lose (about 90 pounds), so I want to start excersizing. The problem with this is I cant afford a gym. I'm gonna start walking, but I want to do some excersizes at home that are fun, and different. Not your typical push ups, crunches etc., and I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on interesting excersizes that really work? I'd love to hear from you guys. I'm so ready to get my life in order now that the lexapro has really helped me. I want to change other areas in my life now, like my weight. So any input/help/ motivation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot you guys! P.S. I dont know how much weight i've lost b/c believe it or not, I dont own a scale!! I'm gonna buy one this week, b/c I will need to keep myself and doc, and dietician informed of my progress. But i do feel a lot better! The diet is actually follows the same guidlines that the american heart assoc. recommends for people to eat everyday. It's really not a diet, I just limit my fat and calorie intake.
