Please join Global AIDS Alliance

for a Grassroots Network conference call to discuss the pricing and production

policies of two major US

pharmaceutical companies, Abbott Laboratories and Gilead

Sciences.

Matt Kavanagh, National Coordinator of

the Student Global AIDS Campaign, will brief us on how policies of these two

pharmaceutical giants prevent people living with HIV/AIDS in the Global South

from accessing lifesaving medications. Matt will emphasize challenges to

the production of generic versions of the medicines. We will also be

joined by DeGennaro, consultant to Global AIDS Alliance on treatment issues, who will focus

specifically on the lack of pediatric drugs to treat children living with the

disease.

Abbott is located right outside Chicago,

and Gilead is in the Bay Area, so we’d especially like to have folks from

these metro areas on the call to let you know about upcoming actions that will

make our concerns impossible to ignore!
