Best to ship by ground. I've heard many varying stories about postal clerks

and their understanding of the law, and that yes, perhaps there is a

loophole for colognes/perfumes, and I even have the Postal Code reference

somewhere. One of the Guild members wants to take on the take of looking

into regulations concerning our business, and this is definitely something

that she will research.

It is based on flashpoint, I believe. Some EOs have a high flashpoint, and

Hi my name is Jen and I have been making soap and handmade cosmetics

for over 25 years now. I have operated an online business, written a

couple of ebooks and even had myself published in soap newsletters.

My favorite thing to do is to create new products and then share my

recipes. I've taken a bit of a sabatical from full blown business

supplying and currently make soaps for a local Soap Exchange and

supply local soapmakers and the occasional ebay auction with melt

and pour soap, essential and fragrance oils and some lotion making

supplies. I've been selling mostly 'at cost' and love to run co ops

when time allows. My favorite co op is rose otto essential oil. It

is so expensive but as far as a rose fragrance goes--the real stuff

really is worth the cost.

I have 5 children, one with cerebral palsy (my foster daughter) and

I love being a mom most of all. My children are #1 and my customers

#2 so working from home and having customers was not always

practical. When the kids get a little older I'm sure I'll open up a

shop again. Soaping is in my blood. I never seem to tire of the

endless combinations of products I can create. Right now my favorite

product is my laundry detergent and I'm thinking of launching it at

a local grocery store. I am an American living in Beautiful British

Columbia, Canada (--Vancouver Island) and I love both

countries so much. If the listmom says it is okay I'd like to share

some recipes? Here is one of my summer favorites (sells in the

markets like ice cream on a hot day).

Orange Luffa Slice

1 1/2 lb Orange Melt and Pour Soap ( Clear can be substituted but

you will need to add orange soap tint and extra orange essential oil)

1 T. orange essential oil (tangerine is nice--any citrus can be used

but tint to appropriate colour--lime--green, grapefruit--pink, lemon-

-yellow etc.)

1/2 t orange soap tint if darker colour is desired

1-6 inch pvc pipe- Round 3 inch size (6 inches is an easy size to

work with. Easy to slide out after chilling. Have the hardware guy

use his circular saw to cut them for you--It cost me $1 per cut and

it was worth every penny for those even clean cuts.)

6 inch whole piece of luffa (Walmart or a dollar store are good

places to find this at a good price)

Melt 1/4 cup of soap. Pour into a flat bottom loaf pan. Set the mold

into the liquid soap and push in the luffa so it also sticks to the

soap--this keeps it from 'floating' back up when you pour the bulk

of the soap.

Melt the remaining soap. I microwave it for about 3 min. then stir

until all the lumps are melted. When the soap cools a bit add the

soap tint and essential oil to preference (you may like yours

stronger scented). Use fresh (not old--less than 1 year on shelf)

citrus essential oil. The old orange smells 'off' to me and the

fresh is so much more uplifting.

Slowly pour the soap over the luffa in the pvc mold. Leave 1/2 inch

of head space for pushing it out of the mold. Let it sit undisturbed

for an hour or so. Once it has 'set' chill in the fridge for a

couple of hours, pop it out of the mold and slice into

beautiful 'orange' slices. The soap is nice and 'scrubby' and a

sponge is left over once the soap is gone.

I often shrink wrap my glycerine soaps to stop any 'sweating' due to

the humidity in our area, but the stretch tight is ever so much

easier to use and does an equally good job as long as they aren't

handled too much.

I'm sorry you have a daughter with Cerebal Palsey. When I was hospitalized for

Anorexia, I had a roomate that had that birth defect. I was 14 at the time and

she was 16 and she would scream alot. She had a very serious case. My parents

tried to get me into another room but she needed me. I was the only one who

I bet you will be sooo glad to get off that prednisone. It's some nasty but

effective stuff. But like you said you will have to give it time to work out

of your system. It stays with you for quite awhile. Glad you like our little

group:)

I'm almost afraid to tell for fear I'd have it wrong. It's been awhile since hubby was on it. But if I remember correctly it depends on how long you was actually on it. It could be anywhere from about 3 weeks to a year I think. Most people are only on it for a short time though. I'd ask my doctor about it to be sure. I do know you have to step yourself down from it. Don't stop taking it all at once unless your dr tells you too.

Some of the weight gain could be from the prednisone still working out of your system?? Now that you are done with that, I would pick one day a week, same day, same time to weigh so that you don't make yourself crazy (just my recommendation) and I would also (just for me) make it Monday just for that reason.... I am less active on the weekends, not always good about getting my water in, etc and it could be retention.

NOW, that all said - I *did* weigh this morning and was down just a little bit... we'll see if the trend continues, usually I just weigh once a month at Curves

Well I went to the doctor last Thursday, he was puzzled about the rash. So he gave me some cream to use on it. But the rash is getting better. It is amazing how it is clearing up once I stopped the prednisone. I am feeling much better now. I just need to get my weight loss back on track, I weighed in this morning gaining 4 lbs. I'm new, so I thought I would pop in and introduce myself. I'm Ann,

I'm 47 (48 in December) and I just placed my order for the LifeLift

DVDs and communter tape from the OxygenLift website.

I spent lots of time looking into all of the aerobic breathing

programs, and this looked like the best and most do-able for me.

I've just started Weight Watchers, I have about 125-150 pounds to

lose, and it's my hope that LifeLift will not only help me with the

weight loss, but will help some with the problem of loose skin afterward.

I can't wait for my DVDs and my audio tape to get here so that I can

get started! Any tips that anyone has for me, please share...I'm all

ears!
