Shaye that's awesome!!! It sounds like your business is going very well for

you. We've got a new spa that opened not to far from me. I was thinking of

checking into selling my stuff there, but I've never been in a spa either!

Maybe

some day when I find the nerve to do that kind of thing.

Good luck getting the account!

You're right, Colleen. It has been kinda quiet on our list. But I've

been here right along. Just SICK and not up to doing anything. I'll

say one thing about our list - we NEVER got into any "political"

arguments in the last two weeks over this whole mess in our country.

There are two other lists I "lurk" on and post to now and then and

they got pretty "hot and heavy" over some things. It got so that there

wasn't even any soap talk - just bullsh......if you know what I mean.

It got so I didn't even want to read them. So, I'd like to say a big

THANK YOU to all of you girls. I think we kept our heads on straight

and this will always be my favorite list.

Now for Shaye.....CONGRATS on your Spa. Sounds good to me. Gee,

maybe she'll give you free service at the spa. :>) Keep us informed. And

yes, I'd go "dressed for business." You want advice? Go there "confident"

in your products and act like you do this on an everyday basis!! I've learned

quite a bit from the business consultant I've been using and he's built up

my confidence quite a bit. Here's a good example: I got a call this afternoon

from the guy that's going to be managing the gift shop at that hotel I told you all about.

He said he has a meeting Monday with the hotel and I should be hearing

from him for a possible meeting at the hotel near the end of next week. If

you remember, he had wanted me to use only e/o's and I wasn't real comfortable

with that, but hadn't told him that at the time. So since I had him on the phone

today I told him my feelings about the fact that people tend to not read labels and

I didn't want to put warnings on labels that may not be read. Also, he had to remember

that people shopping in the gift shop would be buying for "gifts" and may not know

about people's medical conditions that can be affected. I told him I did some

research and checked prices on e/o's (very pricey) and that from what I've discussed

with most people..... the bottom line is 90% of the people are going to buy by the smell

and NOT just because it has e/o in the soap. I also told him very nicely that I CAN

get the ones he wanted like lavender, bergamot, clove, cyclamen, etc. but I hadn't

ordered them yet and invested money on an account I didn't know whether I had yet

or not. I felt that as a business owner himself, most likely he would agree. (he

owns a very nice florist shop). He said he totally understood and agreed with me

after I was done with my little speech. He said to go ahead and use f/o's and get my

samples ready and he'd be calling me next week. I felt very good after the phone

conversation and felt I handled it very professionally. If I get the account.....YEAH!!

.....if not, so be it. But I believe you have to go with what you know and what you're

comfortable with and believe in and to not let somebody change what you do,

especially when they don't know your business.

Well, now that I've bored you all I'll say good night. :>)

The owner called meup yesterday and said she had seen my stuf at the craftmall and wanted me tomake her some EO organic soaps and powders and stuf for her spa. SoTuesday she wants to show me around her place and talk about what kinds ofthings she wants me to make for her. I went up today and bought some decentlooking shoes for the occasion LOL. I've never even been inside a spa butit sounds pretty classy. Im a little nervouse about this. I have to get myact together before then so I dont come off like an idiot. Thanks . I was gonna go for sort of a nice casual look, something that is comfortable for me. ITs been 8 years since I was a secretary in an office and those things I wore then dont fit me anymore after I had the kids. I cant hardly even remember what business casual was! Well, maybe I'll have to do a little more shopping. Thank you on your advice of being confident. She has already seen and smelled a lot of my stuf so I think its pretty much a sure thing. Im going to also take in a small variety of other things just in case she might be interested. She only wants EO's too, no fragrance oil. I dont know how she feels about colorants tho, I will have to see when I get there. She said she has been an aromatherapist for many years.

This is my 1st time with any Austism site and I am very new at this.

I have an 8 yr old daughter who has PDD. Her symptoms through the yrs

have disappeared and is now showing quite a few symptoms of Asperger.

But she has speech difficulties. She speaks well when she does speak

but cannot hold a conversation with anyone. Her temper has also

picked in the last yr or two and I have to use techniques to

calm/discipline her that I learned through Asperger

books/conventions. If anyone can lend an ear and suggest something

that I have not tried, I would be forever grateful. Also, does anyone

have any suggestions on how to explain to her 6 yr old sister about

big sister's condition?

Again, I think this is a wonderal site!

There's a thin book called " This is Asperger's " that is designed to talk

with the student with Asperger's/Autism/PDD and I think would be wonderful

to talk about with your 6 year old daughter. I can't think of the author,

but it's pretty widely available.

Hope that helps!

Welcome to the group . I wish I could remember the name of the book I used.

I got it from the local library. I read the book to my son. We talked a lot

about his sister when he was 4 ,5 and 6 years old. Now ,he is really good at

answering people's questions about his sister. Sincerely, Donna ( mom to

Just don't get yourself sicker in the meantime. Make sure to take it nice

and low-impact. When you can't breathe your heart rate is sure to go up

really fast with less activity.

Oh, how I *hate* those. :(

Uh, I hope that's a good sleepy and not a carbon monoxide sleepy.

Chicken soup, plenty of garlic. Or even garlic soup (recipe to follow a bit

later today)! That's what I;m making today.

Take care of yourself.

hello,

just wanted to say, stay tuff and i know it is hard. i to am suffering

from the fourth anthrax shot i recieved in 2000. i wish something or someone

would break this wide open before civilians endure the pain of the anthrax

vaccination. i'm saying that to say, just yesterday in Atlanta, the CDC is

giving the shots to all civilians that want to try it. I really hope they don't

get sick but i think they will, some will. I try each and everyday to handle

the stress of my ever changed body. I started on anti depression meds that

seemed

to help in the beginning but now they are slowly breaking down to whatever

illness i have. i wish someone would come out and confess, because i can't live

my life like this, suicide is becoming an option if i cannot get help fast. But,

you stay strong and take care!!!!!

The band through Dr Fox costs approximately $18k (if you're lucky enough to

have your insurance cover some of that it will be less). If you are self

pay and don't want to pay the $18k then Dr Fox usually recommends you go

through Dr Rumbaut in Monterrey Mexico and he charges $10k.

For information's sake, a good idea might be to go to Dr Fox's information

seminar. It costs $25, goes for about 4 hours and you can ask as many

questions as you like.

Welcome and all other newbies!

I had been meaning to extend welcome wishes for some time now, although I lurk

most of the time because of my busy schedule. I guess it was 's connection

to chiropractic that really got me to respond this morning.

My short story is this.....I have 2 beautiful boys, 4 and 2 in January. They are

both totally unvaxxed and never will be. We do chiropractic, and both my babies

were adjusted at birth. It's amazing that my children are the healthiest kids I

know. Other kids have the asthma, the colds, and other assorted maladies, but

not my babies! My husabnd is in the military and I worry about what vaxxes he'll

be getting when and if they go overseas and what we can do to minimize the

effects of those.

I started an information resource group about 3 1/2 years ago when my oldest was

about 1. I have continued, although since starting I have relocated to a new

state. I start chiropractic school November 1st and am sssooooo excited about

this. It has been a dream of mine since high school to be a healthcare provider,

although I used to want to be an MD! Egaads!! Now the very thought of that makes

me nauseous.

I am so glad this list is here to provide support and information for those

parents that truly wish to be educated. I'm excited to be attending Dr Tim

o'Shea's Sanctity of Human Blood seminar next month and I expect to get lots of

good info from that.

Healthy wishes for all,

Nanci

i know how you feel, nathan has been wet noodling lots lately too, besides

horrible upset moments followed by crying, but when he does this we give him

s few chances to get up for certain item he likes, (usually a bribe, lol)

like i will say hey how about we go get a sprite, and he usually snaps right

out of it, or hubby might suggest he helps him play a game(the playstation)

and usually he will snap out of it rather quickly or state yes or no to the

REDIRECTIONAL idea/activity. soemtimes i just get a fav book out or video

and just start watching it or reading out loud and he will forget all about

being a " butthead " ,lol and then we try again. Ok, its time to go to school,

you want to take the video/ game with you to play later, and then this item

becomes his transition item for the day, and he is getting great at

remembering and will pull it out seconds in the door before he even gets his

coat off, :). Hope this helps. shawna, oh i forgot if by chance he refuses

redirectional activities, or frist do this then this, we manually stand him

up, and he is alsoHEAVY!!! coming in at 109#'s only 11yrs old, usually takes

two of us, and we just tel it to him straight, this is what its time for and

you have to go, if you want ...... then lets get this done!, usually he will

respond with a frustrated " FINE! " but does go on his way. Cant let him win

when it comes to wet noodles or other diverting behaviors. shawna.

Hi all,

We are doing okay. Half-way through radiation, will be done in mid March.

I've got a pressing problem I hope one of you moms can help me with. As you

all know, we've been going the med go round with . We are still waiting

for the school's nutritionist to get approval for special meals for 's

g/f diet......anyway, in the meantime, we're having a helluva time getting

out the door, or anywhere else when he doesn't want to go.

You all know the " wet noodle drop " . I've been getting away with it all these

years because was always a small thing. Well, now, he's older, bigger,

stronger and HEAVIER and we can no longer lift him up off the floor, ground,

wherever to get him going.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to handle this? It is a major

problem in the a.m., with the school bus sitting there waiting forever for us

to get out the door!

Thanks all,

Hi ,

Hope all things are going ok with you. I think about you often. Zeb hates to

leave the house and I often bribe him with treats or special outings etc. I

have special toys for in the car only too. Zeb hated to go to school in 2nd

and 3rd grade. I knew there was a problem with school. Do you think something

isn't quite right with school or is this with everything?

Hi !!!! So good to hear from you!!!! I hope you get through the

radiation ok...I think of you often. Please keep us posted when you can.

I know it's hard, but you may have to tell the driver to just be patient

until you get a handle on . That's number one. Number two, does he

understand ahead of time that he's going to the bus? Maddie carries a

picture of her cab driver each morning. I hand it to her when he pulls up,

even before we put her coat on. She also has a *transition* item with her

everywhere she goes...it's usually a dangly thing or some toy that she's

*bonded* with while getting ready in the morning...hey, sometimes it's a

toothbrush. Also, we have it written in her IEP. They do *walking with

an adult exercises* every day. They use pictures to show her the

*destination*. It's really helped.

Good luck!!!

Rochelle usually bonds with an item in the morning and it goes on the bus

with her. It is a long bus ride and she now has a box in the bus of things

for the way home. Problem is sometimes a different bus comes to pick up/drop

off so an it can go in her backpack too. They allow the transitional item

because they don't want her to take her shoes off. She has to have something.

Hi !!! Welcome to the group!! Where are you from in Texas?? I am right

outside of Dallas! Small world. :o)

Sunshine

Hello Everyone!

Hello, I just wanted to introduce myself, y'all seem like a great group that

I would love to be a part of. I am a mother of 2 (girl-5, and boy-almost

3), and have been married almost 6 years. I work as a permanent substitute

in the Pre-K in a small town in Texas (which I LOVE!) I am also working on

a degree in Early Childhood Education, AND we are finishing a house that we

built over the past year, so I am busy busy! I did BFL a little over a year

ago, and was VERY PLEASED with my fitness level, but when you stop working

out and start eating crap you can't expect to stay all buff and everything!!

So, after watching myself gain back almost 20 pounds (yikes!!) ENOUGH IS

ENOUGH!! I am not making any more excuses about no time, and I am going to

do this, and stay with it FOR LIFE this time!!!!!!! (I might need some of

you to kick my butt sometimes though!!)

I plan to start a new challenge on Monday, anyone else starting then? I get

to do my lovely before measurements and pictures (yuck!!) this weekend. I

will be working out at home, but I know I can do it, as I've done it before.

Thanks for all the motivation!
