Guest guest Posted January 30, 2006 Report Posted January 30, 2006 Hi , Well you need ear drums to go with your ear guitar and ear piano, you silly boy. Actually the ear drum keeps dirt, water, oil, and everything else out of the middle ear area. If you didn't have it, you could get bacteria working its way into the cochlea area, the balance mechanisms, and the eustacian tubes. So lots of reasons for having ear drums. Outer ear area is needed to gather sound, hold your hearing aids, glasses, and give you something to wiggle and pierce. The Original From: <J@...> Subject: RE: Re: HOW LOUD? Ummm, hearing-wise, on a CI ear, what do you need eardrums for? Everything in the middle and outer ear is now redundant.(although the outer does come in handy to hang things off) Quote
