Patsy,

Our Nucleus/Freedom processors beep 4 times before the battery goes

out or at least mine does. We get that warning on low batteries and

know it's time to change them. I can't ever tell when my batteries

are getting ready to go out until I get the beeps. When I was first

activated and in lots of noise, I didn't hear my beeps every time my

batteries were ready to die. It took getting used to hearing those 4

beeps and more maps to recognize what I was hearing. My beeps sound

just like my microwave and at times when my husband was in the

kitchen cooking along side of me and the microwave beeped, I thought

it was my batteries going out. After I was recognizing more sounds,

I could tell the difference between the beeps and knew what was

what...both processor and microwave beep 4 times. :)) You might want

to wait until your batteries die and then change them to get used to

those beeps and recognize the sound. My batteries will last about

1/2 a minute once I get those beeps to change them. It's possible

you might get longer life than you anticipated, so give them a chance

to go out on their own and see how long you do have on battery time.

There has been times I'll get the battery change beep and ignore it

if it's near bedtime and just leave the batteries in my processor

overnight. The next morning I've gotten several more hours out of

those batteries that died the night before. I believe this is due to

resting the batteries and having them cool down a bit. Just my guess.
