Guest guest Posted October 9, 2006 Report Posted October 9, 2006 Oh my G-d, ! Are you driving again?? And a Jag?? Right out of the old commercial! Let me know when you're getting behind the wheel, please! LOL ) Jackie Quote
Guest guest Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 Yes Jackie, I am driving again. Actually I never quit. To make this CI related, I have to admit, listening to that V12 hum at 120 is awesome. Oooops, did I say 120? Its so hard, cruising the freeways, listening to that wonderful Celtic music, my foot resting on the gas pedal.... Then I see red and blue lights blinking in the rear view mirror. Not to worry, they are receding. Hmmm, now I see some up ahead. I call Harry Potter on my cell and ask him for a favor. Now the cops cant see us but look confused when they hear us whooshing by them. Talk about folks with normal hearing but cant see the source of the sound. (evil grin) Want to go for a ride with us? *---* *---* *---* *---* *---* Quote from the Boss... Guest guest Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 Here it is, below 's message:, that fascinating ride , Can Tigger and I join you? Remember the great time we had driving another list member to their CI center? What a wild and bumpy ride that was. LOL! Stan, can use a cane on wheels outside her window and Tigger on her lap to give her cues, plus the GPS. can have a similar cane outside his window with Gimlet assisting him. We need someone to sit on the hood as an ornament to provide cues. Who could that be? Jackie? Well, , Thanks for the designated place of honor on the top of the car. I'm not sure that I'd make a very pretty hood ornament, and I might just dent the hood! But, hey, if , and Stan are game, so am I! LOL Will I be provided with cool safety glasses and a scarf, ala Snoopy?? If so, I'm ready! LOL <giggling> Jackie , What an image! LOLOL! I can see it now: Jackie sitting on the hood of a car with her hair and toga blowing in the wind, me in the driver's seat, in the back having a blast with my GPS, Stan's wife sitting to my right hysterically giving me directions ( " Did I say left? No, I'm sorry. I meant right. Right! " ) and Stan looking at all of us like we're crazy. Meanwhile Gimet and Tigger are on the floor of the backseat nibbling on dog biscuits totally oblivious to what is going on. Lucky dogs! LOL! Stan, wont worry about Jackie on the hood. That is why I am there with the GPS. And is why your wife should probably stay in the back seat. The dogs are backup. You might want to be back there too and keep an eye on the wife. You will be fine. You will be thinking only of activation day. Or maybe you will wish you had taken a limo. Oh I reaklly have to be careful with my mocha, or will disown me. LOL Stan, Welcome home! It looks like you survived the experience of having me behind the wheel. Congratulations! I hope your stomach has settled by now. was pretty handy with GPS, wasn't he? Jackie didn't block my view for even a second, your wife was great at giving directions, both dogs were completely oblivious as to what was going on and you made it home in one piece. Will wonders never cease? And they say miracles never happen. LOL! Thank goodness the cops never pulled me over for " driving while blind. " (They probably couldn't tell me apart from the other " blind " drivers on the road. LOL!) It was quite an amazing ride, wasn't it? <grin> , Wow! you're going to drive me to the activation. Now, I'm really getting excited and you don't know how much I appreciate it. I'm sure glad you like to drive. Actually, I was thinking I might be too excited to drive. And, now with you volunteering, it really takes a load off my mind. <smiling broadly> BTW, do you suppose the GPS could be used to activate me? At the very least, maybe it could help steer me in the right direction. <grin> Stan Quote
Guest guest Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 , Poor Stan had no idea what he was getting into. LOL! Fortunately, we got him there in one piece even though that was doubtful at times. I'd love to join you for a mocha. Better yet, make that two. I need the caffeine! I have midterms next week and have been hard at work studying. Speaking of which, how about taking my statistics exam for me? My head is spinning with variables and I don't know how much more of this I can take. LOL! Guest guest Posted October 10, 2006 Report Posted October 10, 2006 , Sure I will rescue you from stats. Here are my stats. When you show up here, I will discuss the numbers over a pair of mochas. Oh, you want me to sit on FOR you, is that it? Are you sure that is what you want? All these years of college could go out the window in seconds yuh know. But if you trade your Freedoms then I could do stats. Too many variables for your peace of mind, you say? Throw in your GPS system. Guest guest Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 Jackie, Ok ok, Dreamer will do it, she loves to poke her pretty head out the window. She will ride up front then. Guest guest Posted October 11, 2006 Report Posted October 11, 2006 What people don't realize about the and driving letters is that both are deafblind. And it got started with one of them volunteering to drive, and then the other pitched in, and figured with having a global positioning system (GPS) they wouldn't get lost. And their two guide dogs would come along for the ride and be busy nibbling biscuits and getting to know each other. GREAT correspondence, and shows just how people can make jest of themselves and have a great time and keep the rest of us entertained. If you decide to do this again, and Jackie isn't available, my new pooch, Nimue, will be more than happy to run circles around the car and warn others out of the way. Quote
