Dear ,

I'm with the company that manufactures Dry & Store (Ear Technology

Corp.) so I thought I'd pitch in with a response to your question.

Here's the quick answer: Open the outer gold-colored foil package,

but do not remove the clear wrapping that surrounds the Dry-Brik.

More details: The clear wrapper serves a couple of purposes. It keeps

the copper strip in place, which is important only if you have the

Professional model of Dry & Store (the one with the drawer) because

it's part of a *desiccant detection system*.

Most importantly, the clear wrapper keeps the Dry-Brik intact. This

sounds strange, I know, but the more moisture that's adsorbed by the

Dry-Brik, the *dustier* it becomes. So the clear wrapper keeps that

dry silica and activated carbon (the *odor-eater*) from circulating.

There are tiny tiny holes in the plastic which are barely visible.

While the holes are nearly invisible, to a moisture molecule they

look huge. The moisture easily passes through those holes where it's

captured by the Dry-Brik. Meanwhile, any loose particles of Dry-Brik

are too large to escape out through the plastic.

I hope this answers your question and gives you a bit of additional

information that you find helpful. Please do not hesitate to contact

us whenever we may be of assistance.

Best regards,

Katy
