well hello , from a long time migraine sufferer! I cant take imitrex for my

attacks but I rely on vicodin. I am on Tomopax daily for the headaches. Anyway

the surgeries don't trigger my headaches but the florescent lighting in the

hospital do. On my last admission, the nurse asked me if I was in pain and I

said yes but didn't tell her what type. (she didn't ask where either) so she

gave me ONE tylenol with codeine which was watershed for me so I requested

stronger pain meds and I got it. (Morphine and off to lala land for the night. )

So it does depend on your triggers. So it is possible that the strong pain meds

that they give you the first night might ward off those nasties.

Hi Snoopy,

Light sensitivity won't be a problem for me, but noise (when I have my HAs

on) and nausea are. With one ear most likely being completely deaf

after the surgery, I don't know how bothersome noise will be. I think my

primary complaint will be nausea.

I used to get migraines (haven't had one for about 4 years, touch wood) and

the

most effective medication I took was Imigren as required (may be similar to

Imetrix)

I'm now on beta blockers after a mild heart attack and that may have helped

the migraine problem.

Hi ,

Thanks for your reply! What kind of beta blockers were you taking? I've

taken a migraine preventative before (Verapamil) but stopped taking it after

my migraines weren't so frequent.

- blockers are betaloc cr47.5, 1 per day (when I remember)

Was sorry to read of your loss, and best wishes for every success with your

CI.

In the week that I've had it, the CI has made amazing differences to me. You

wouldn't believe how loud birdsong can be!

Regards
