back thoughts of my own first moments as well. I too

wonder what happened regarding your vertigo.

A few people asked me the same question " what happened to the vertigo "

so to answer this question, I'm happy to say that I have not had any

more vertigo. I do however continue to watch my sodium, and take a

daily diuretic. This past summer I had a few dizzy spells and inner

ear fluid accumulation. It took about 2 months, and several

medicines, for that to subside. I was diagnosed as having cochlear

hydrops (menieres disease) prior to getting my CI. At the time I wrote

the story I knew that, however I had been feeling so good being able

to hear, that I failed to mention it. I just live knowing its lurking

in the background, but for the most part I've been pretty lucky, even

though I struggled with balance issues for almost 3 months post op. I

know some folks with Meniere's who struggle day to day with this

annoying disease. One thing, many CI folks report their tinnitus is

masked with the CI. Not mine. It is always present and ranges from a

quiet buzz to an annoyingly loud roar. But my hearing experience with

my CI has been remarkable and that makes it all worthwhile!
