Hi,

Evan is finally nearing the end of his treatment. Well, actually he

may be done. I picked him up at daycare on Friday and his face

looked red and he was not himself. He cried when I took his band

off. I cring to think that it has become uncomfortable or painful.

(Of course one of his caretakers said " wouldn't that be just aweful

if it was causing a headache or hurting him! " I wanted to smack

her!!! Like we don't feel bad already) He has had a red spot on his

forehead in the " holding " place for over a month. It fades, but is

always there when I take off the band. We have been thinking

carefully about whether he will get any additional benefit or to just

throw in the towel on this. Our OT has said he looks good but could

improve a little more. However, she seemed fine with us being done 2

weeks ago when we seemed ready to stop. His ears are still a little

off, and he is a little flat on the " latch " side. I guess I don't

want to feel like we gave up too soon and am wondering if any of you

went through a choice like this or it was a bit more decided for

you??????

I don't plan on putting it back on until he sees his OT again anyway

which is not until Tuesday. I am also wondering if that is just too

long to keep it off which means decision made!?!

He has been in the DOC band for 4 months. He started at 5 1/2 months

old.

Any thoughts or insites would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Beth Anne & Evan
