Guest guest Posted April 24, 2006 Report Posted April 24, 2006 Hi Peg, I'm very pleased with mine and would do it again. If you do the little massage exercise they tell you to do, they will be very soft and real feeling. The key is to keep the implants moving around a very big pocket so that it has a lot of movement. If you do not do the exercises, I could see where the pocket could be small and give a hard feeling to them. Mine are 1 year old and feel very natural. I had a periareolar but with the lift, I also have the anchor incision. I didn't want the incision, but the only way to get the lift right was to have that. Read all the PS web sites and consult with a couple PS's and you'll learn all about it. I also went sub muscular, and I cannot remember why, but I had a good reason. I also went with saline, NOT silicone. It's safe, but I do not trust silicone, even though the PS will say it gives an even more natural feel. I researched this for a year and consulted with 3 physicians prior to surgery. Before choosing my PS, I called 3 of his patients for a reference. Do your homework, like you are here, and you'll make the right decisions. I am thrilled with my results!!! Hope that helps some... Holly 318/175 5'10 " Size 8 Dr. R. (MY HERO!) March 11, 2003 Breast reconstruction question Hi, Could I get a reading from the group on reconstruction with implants? I am seeing multiple techniques for location, under the muscle or over the muscle, and 3 different insertion possibilities Axilla (armpit) Periareolar (around the nipple) or under the fold of the breast (infra mammary) Could I get an honest assessment of what you got and why? If you knew then, what you know now, what would you do? How is the feeling of the reconstruction? I am concerned that when I hug someone that my chest will feel like two turtle shells. What do you think? Peg 3 years out MGB Quote
