Guest guest
lisa i hve not had shots for long time. as children we get alot of shots to prevent chicken pox measles mumps ditpheria tetanus. and then we got a couple more shots around age 12. and then i had a shot for mmr(mumps measles rubella) becasue i asked for it at age 20 . ( i didnt want to have these diseases when pregnant) . i am now 43 and just got one shot for tetanus. tht i need to take every ten years. i also get a flu shot every winter to stay healthy. so mostly babies and toddler got the most shots then maybe a shot once every ten years in a lifetime...if you have medical insurance to cover all those... if you dont , have insurance you may not get all your shots as recomme nded. jb, california , usa
Guest guest
Well that is kind of hard to say. My son got Meningits and that is why he recieved the CI. He lost all of his hearing and the doctor said I didn't need to worry about it because he already had it. I guess he is in a different category than everyone else. shots Hi everyone l wanted to know how often do people have injections in a year.l had mine done before the operation.l don't like injections but l suppose it is important.l read all letters everyday and they are interesting to read as there is hardly anyone not like the groups from lsrael ________________________________________________________________ The best thing to hit the Internet in years - Juno SpeedBand! Guest guest
I got the pnemovax vaccine the first time around in 1992 or 1994 to prevent the pnemonia as I am prone to any type of respiratory infections due to asthma. When I had my first CI surgery June 2002, I didnt think anything of it. then when the recommendation came out to vaccine people against mengititis during the summer of 2002, I thought it meant the mengititis vaccine. I was surprised to discovered that it was the pnemovax vaccine. I asked my primary care doctor if I was all set. She looked up the FDA and CDC recommendations on this vaccine. Sure enuf I needed a booster. the CDC recommends that if you get the pnemovax under the age of 64 that you need a booster every 5-8 years. So I got the booster between the 2 surgeries and will get another booster in 2008 or 2011 which ever I feel like it. It is mostly for my asthma :-). -- Snoopy left implant 3G 7/19/02 right implant 3G 5/15/03 Bilateral
