, I've been so busy I haven't popped in in quite a while either. See

how behind I am??? I'm so glad to hear how well you've done. My weight is

still down from 173 to 153 and I went from a size 16 to a size 11. I am

still not very active but was skating for an hour Wednesday evenings for a

few weeks, and sometimes on Saturdays as well. Skating is over now though

and I need to find something to do. My friend and I plan to ride our bikes

together. Here in Collingwood, Ontario the grass is showing now so I need

to get right on that! We have just entered the lull between winter sports

and summer sports with regard to my kids' extracurricular activities. It's

the perfect time to start a habit.

Anyway, I wanted to say that I too have noticed quite a sensitivity to wheat

now that I don't eat it regularly. I do have pizza Friday nights and you

should see my face today! I'm all puffy and swollen, but not like Urticaria

(like before the BTD). I just look like I've gained a lot of weight...

mostly in my face! I think I'm going to have to cut out my Friday night

pizza. Last night after eating the pizza, I went out for an hour and a half

with some friends and I could feel the effects of the wheat even then. Now,

I did have a glass of red wine which may have added to the effect, I think.

But also, every now and then, when I eat something like wheat, my heart does

this skipping thing, like missing a beat and then catching up. Scary.

I am trying to be more organized with my meals so that I won't be apt to eat

something just because it's fast and convenient. Those foods are usually

not BT compliant. I am so happy with my weight loss you can't imagine, and

I feel so much better than before. But as I've said before, that was just a

side benefit. I am healthy and have no hives or Urticaria and that was my

goal. I just have to keep motivated and never forget why I'm doing this.

Subject: Hi Everyone

Well I know I have been gone for awhile maybe too long. I just

wanted to pop in and say Hi. Well I got good news, I recently had a

physical. My doctor cant believe the change in me. My cholesterol

level was 135, triglerides was 41. I was surprised is used to be

187, so I must be doing something right. My weight 146 a drop from

212lbs. And still going down I hope. I'm at a plateau right now,

hopefully it will start again. I also ran into a another 0 person at

my gym so we have been talking about the changes in both of us. I

cant believe my physical body has changed so much I have wanted this

my whole life and this is too easy. Dont get my wrong I still have

some bad days when I would like to go back, but my body will not

allow me to return to that old life. I have become allergic to wheat

products which I use to eat everyday of my life. Now if I eat the

wheat I itch all over. Has any one else experienced this

transformation within themselves. Now if I can get the carb cravings

undercontrol that would be great. Talk to you soon

Well, I think it does, but I can't be positive. If it isn't the

wheat, I don't know what it is. My regular doctor doesn't believe in

naturopaths and treating one's self without traditional medications,

unless you're just " eating right and exercising " . He doesn't believe

I'm having perimenopausal symptoms even though I have sweats in the

night, flushes during the day, etc., etc. A family doctor (not mine)

actually sent me home from emerg one time even though my throat was

swelling up, because I'd already taken 50 mg of benedryl and that's

what they would have given me! Huh! My naturopath is a lot more

open-minded but I haven't been to see him in months. I drink one

coffee per day, in the morning. On occasion I have 2 per day, but

that's rare. I suppose the caffeine could be contributing as well to

the skipping heart beats. I have had 2 Urticaria type reactions to

ibuprofen so I use Tylenol for bad headaches now, even though it's on

our avoid list. Over time I'm sure we'll figure these reactions

out. But weird heart beats shouldn't be ignored, I believe. What

did your doctor say the preventricular contractions were due to?

Mine ended up being an enlarged heart. You might want to get checked out.

Where in Germany? I live in Belgium and it is close to the German Border. And

when in May, as I am going to Denver to my son's wedding at the end of May. If

we could get together that would be great.

Hi everyone

Next month I will be traveling to Germany to help deliver my 3rd

grandson. If possible I would like to meet anyone from the group,

that lives over seas. Just let me know if you would be interested.

-Well that would be great if I had a companion to go on this trip.

My daughter is allready pawning me off on her friends so I can see

Europe. I told her she is having a baby not planning a funeral.

That baby can travel with her no matter what she thinks.

So would I. Congrats!

> I still exercise 4-5 days a week

Today I did my first exercise video in over a week. My sinusitis let up

enough for a bit over an hour this morning that I was able to do it without

getting dizzy. Oh, I am *so* out of shape!

> but I remembered that

> saying " Nothing tastes as good as thin feels "

That one doesn't work for me, because a lot of foods *do* taste better than

being thin feels. LOL I have to keep repeating to my self, " Think before

taking that first compulsive bite. "

With me, it's never candy or sweets, but usually just plain old food, like

seconds (or more) of dinner, or bigger piece of cheese than I planned for

that snack.

>Isn't that funny, how a 270 calorie candy bar

> can make you gain 2 pounds???

It sure is! Many times I do think it's true that some of us can gain weight

just looking at food.

>Everyone have a great

> day!!! :-)

Thanks. With the kid feeling half-way human again after getting 12 hours

sleep last night, and having only this week off before starting summer

session at the college, we took a train ride to the used CD store and loaded

up. He got almost a dozen used cd's, some as cheap as $3, and I got

replacements for some old vinyl albums I had worn out, like Joe Cocker's Mad

Dogs and Englishmen and the Beach Boy's Friends & 20/20 albums combined

(import) for half price! Yee-ha! I love that store!

Now if only the Apple store would call to say his computer is ready, then

the day would be perfect.

Wow. got all sexy on us! How do your joints/skeleton feel?

Subject: hi Everyone

Hi, I'm back for those who might have forgotten me. I have been gone

for three months now. It's good to see everyone still posting and

some new ones. Just a little catching up to let you know how I have

been. I'am down 74lbs now and down from a size 18 to 20 too a size 6

to 8. I feel great and had a blast but its great to be home. Miss

you all and I wish I could have been able to read all the postings

but I was not in access of computer. Talk to you soon B.

BTW, I've got to ran: I've tried a number of " sweet " peppers (none of the common

bell peppers here) in a stew and I've found them to be... disappointing. The

only peppers I've enjoyed that have been sweet have been roasted red bell

peppers and some green bells. Maybe it is the blandness of Minnesota or

something, but I just can't justify the price of these fruits. I can enjoy the

flavors that the hot ones bring, the hot bananas, cayenne, jalapeno... I cut out

the ribs and core with its seeds and there's hardly any heat that comes through

in the finished dish.

I feel great, I never thought to myself, that this could be

possible. I have achieved something that I never thought I could do

in my lifetime. My joints and skeleton are holding there own. I'am

smaller now than when I was in high school.

Oh wow Diane!

Sounds as if you have done the loop too. This doc then that doc.

I wonder if you did a search on any of those doctors on the web, if you'd be

able to locate any articles they've written on topic?

Truth be told, I've been spying on my chosen doctor for a couple of years that

way. He's been pretty active.

Maybe if you called those doctor's offices and ask for any articles on

flatback, etc... those docs have written. It might be a good start.

Also, these docs must have/had a mentor somewhere along the line, right? Who

is/was it?

I had a mylogram too, right after we moved to Connecticut. The radiologist went

straight into the spinal sac with that injection and I didn't heal. That

headache was awful and then I ahd to have a blood patch. Golly, it was insane.

Now I know....never again will anybody inject into my spinal sac.

Let me know how you do in your search. I'm real interested in your journey.

Debi, Congrats on your weight loss and excercise! I know the

excercise really makes me feel great!

Let us know how the check up goes. I am going to go to my PCP just

for blood work soon.
