Guest guest
Hello, Jeanne -- I'm still trying to get more parasites out so haven't done the gallstone flush yet. Dusan said it might take up to 10 flushes every 2 weeks to get them all out but I think he said the average is 5 flushes. People are using hot castor oil packs when they have an attack. There's lots of info. in the Archives. ... Bernice
Guest guest
Hey Jeanne, this is laura. The list has been quiet lately, but I am sure someone will answer your question. I have never had an attack, just slight pain and itchiness. Which flush did you do? Did you pass alot of stones? Guest guest
Hi All, I'm new to this list. I have a few questions. I did the gallbadder flush a few weeks ago and I have had two attacks since then. Will I continue to have attacks? I am going to do another flush soon, but I'm not sure if this will cure me. I do not want to go through life wondering if what I'm eating is going to give me an attack. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Jeanne

Hi Jeanne, It is my understanding that doing just one flush not only is not enough, but it can cause you to have MORe problems. It does this by eliminating the bigger stones first, and then the smaller stones actually plug up the bile duct even more than the bigger stones did. There is debate on the subject, but the consensus seems to be anywhere from 5-25 flushes, done in 1-2 week intervals. This is done until no more stones come out. > I do not want to go through life wondering if what I'm eating > is going to give me an attack. This IS life. If you eat junk, you will have to suffer the consequences. The flush is a way to keep the stones out, but until you change your eating habits, they will keep coming back. > Any help would be appreciated. > Thanks, > Jeanne -- Marcus
Guest guest
hey charles, I hope my questions aren't too dumb! I guess I am worried about this " stirred up " feeling because I am going away on Wednesday. I did the flush this previous Wednesday and I wonder if I could go ahead and do another tomorrow night (Monday). Would that be too early? laura I don't see why not, though again, I am not what you would call an authority. Nothing I have read would indicate a DANGER from doing it too soon after a previous one. I think the main reason for the wait is to let the body recuperate, as it can be fairly taxing. If you feel OK about it, then I would say 'go for it'. -- Marcus

Guest guest
Dear Beth: It is a shame that you had to fall into this, but, just from our list, you can see you are not alone. Forgetting issues of malpractice, and the like, I believe the GI was out of bounds in what he/she did. The approved protocols state to go for 24 weeks, (which may not be equal to 6 months), and if all is stable, then do another 24 weeks. If you don't respond after that, I would probably agree with your GI. Also, depending on how long it has been from stopping therapy to now, while the combo is usually not continued if its been stopped for more than 2 weeks, unless, it is to stablize blood levels. Since your viral loads went up, you may be a candidate for high dose interferon, which the doc has spoken about. Do you have a hepatologist? What State are you located in? What is your history, etc.?, are all important questions. If you want to write to me privately, I'll try to help if I can. We could then speak by phone or whatever, and I'll see what I can dig up. It also sounds like you are either in a HMO or some type of " gate keeper " health plan. There are ways around those too, but, you will need to be persistent. I will not advise anything illegal, or unethical, just to a level that is owed to any person. If it helps at all, besides being a Nurse Practitioner, I have 2 Master's in Health Care and Business and have worked for Insurance Companies, Privute Groups, and have worked with the FBI, and several other State and Federal Agencies, in investigating issues that, while at a smaller level, are still very similar. I've also done many " Fraud " investigations for a variety of people or companies. This is said not to try and impress you, but, because I am a big advocate of patient's rights, and, both making sure insurance companies are neither overbilled, nor, allowed to skirt their obligations. So, if I can, I'll help if you want. Marty byteme@...

Guest guest
Dear : If I typed 4 years, it was a mistake. The max normal dose of combo is 48 weeks. Heavy interferon alone, is still being tested and varies. But, not 4 years. I am not sure you, or your family could physically or psychologically take that long. Sometimes 4 weeks is enough to drive a family nuts. Marty

Guest guest
Dear Constance: The RNA, in the basic form would be the messenger to the RNA. It is like a delivery person, or coach, or anyone, or thing, that carries instructions to take the next step, In this case, it is how the cell divides and what it carries as information. Everyone has RNA in each cell that acts like the stop light at a traffic signal. If the light goes on the " frizz " , you either have a very messy intersection, accidents or both. The PCR is a test that allows the lab to look at a particular aspect of your blood serum, and, by some hairy methods, is able to see how much of the virus is in a given area. This figure is then taken and multiplied to account for the rest of the liver, with the assumption that it is a representative sample. It is just another medical test that offers more accurate details of something that is happening, and to what degree. Years ago the ALT and AST were used as indicators on whether someone had a heart attack, because, when any muscle suffered injury, it releases certain chemicals into the body, which are then measured. It was assumed, that if you had chest pain, and these levels were elevated, you were, or had a heart attack. Today, we know how to more sophistically tell what chemicals are released from what cells, when that area has problems. The PCR is one of those indicators that help in HCV, although there are PCR levels for other conditions. I hope this helps. Marty
