Guest guest
Hi Alice: Got the refurbished 3G Tuesday after the ol' one died from too much sweat--Cris, our audie, ordered it Friday so fast turnaround. However, in seems a wee bit faint so I've been wearing BWP to teach class. I'm wearing the 3G again to get used to it. I've got tennis practice again tomorrow and I'll try to be careful because that's what killed it last week. April winds on the tennis courts have been driving me crazy with noise--if I turn my head 90 degrees from the person I'm talking to, sometimes it blocks enough wind so I can hear them--I'm so glad I found a use for my noggin. Guest guest
So this is a TC program? Do any of them have CI's? Do any of them have speech or hearing abilities? Are you saying that you feel the TC program is fine....not to worry about the oral aspect so much? Just clarifying Thanks, In a message dated 5/13/03 6:47:59 PM Pacific Daylight Time, halfencer@... writes: > out of a > graduating class of 208, 10 were in the hearing impaired program. Guest guest
Hi Hal! (28 more days) <<There are some voices that I absolutely cannot make out--in person or on the phone.>> I totally agree with that! More time and mappings may help. <<There are situations that I have not figured out how to work--intercom messages>> This is the hardest for me too. I went to the medical examiner's office of the Bd of Ed and got an accommodation that says I have to have those types of messages wrtten down and sent to my room. That has not ever been done even ONCE! But this way I know that I cannot be held responsible for something that was said over the intercom; it has allowed me to relax a lot more. <<--meetings with lots of people talking simultaneously.>> Autosensitivity, Greatly reduced sensitivity level (works best for me on the 3G). Reduced volume with Whisper? I never use Whisper so I wouldn't know firsthand but it seems worth a try. But really, do teachers ever say that much worth hearing?? LOL Nuked 9/28/00 Hooked 10/26/00 I SUPPORT OUR TROOPS!
Guest guest
I'm really puzzled after waking up yesterday morning with a raging CI--everything was very, very loud and had lots of echoes. This morning I turned my BWP down to 3 and I still seemed to be getting lots of sound--my 5:45 morning walk with the dog in a quiet neighborhood was full of traffic noise I normally don't notice. I went to school and it seemed to me that I was actually picking up sounds I normally miss--I think I was hearing better? I just put on my 3G to see if I still got the overwhelming volume of yesterday and that's gone. I have an appointment to see my audi tomorrow but now I'm wondering if I should bother her. I'm thinking the problem wasn't apparently with the CI at all--it was me. Never before have I noticed much fluctuation in sound I perceived getting from the CI. Guest guest
I'm wondering how you are doing today? Can you update us? Did you have to go in and see Chris? Alice
