Guest guest
Hello to all. It's been several months since I've read any postings here or on the pre-op board. I've been battling depression and loosing. I continue to experience episodes of Nausea and Vomiting. On Christmas Eve I vomited at least 7 times,(mainly bile, very little undigested food) at which time my family pointed out that this is critical and needs to be addressed. I had my surgery with Dr. Dasher in North Carolina on August 18 2005. I have had problems with cyclical N & V since the beginning, but it seems to be quite severe now. Last nite, I emailed Dr. Rutledge a lengthy description of my symptoms and today, forwarded a two week food diary to Kim Hazen (to pass on the the docs). I spoke to Dr. Rutledge a year ago and over a period of weeks the N & V seemed to improve. I thought the estrogen patches had corrected the problem, but the N & V returned. I did not follow up with Dr. R. in hopes that over time it would pass. I seem to go in cycles where I feel quite normal for sometimes weeks and then cycle back to vomiting 2 times per day on average. During these periods I have no appetite, often feel quite nauseated and my intake is quite low. I have been in the N/V cycle for several months now and it's taking it's toll. My preop weight was 242-250 and I had lost 120 pounds by my first anniversary. I have stayed at 123 pounds for several months but dropped down to 120 yesterday. I'm 5 feet 7.5 inches tall. Although I'm a little underweight my primary concern is my health and nutritional status. I had all of the post-op blood work drawn again this morning and I have a follow-up appointment with my Internist on the 24th. My upper GI and gastroscope were normal and negative for H-Pylori OK... so what I'm looking for are the post-op MGBers who have had to have revisions or reversals for chronic nausea or excessive weight loss/malnutrition. I remember reading about 5 people in the first 1250 patients who required revision/reversal for excessive weightloss/nausea and I'm sure there have been a few more since then. Can you share your experiences with me. Thanks so much... hugs Kim Kim Nash --------------------------------- Be smarter than spam.
