One Year Anniversary 9/15

One year ago today I had a life altering surgery called the MGB. My

weight

that morning was 300 pounds and today it is 175. In one year, I have

lost more

than my mother weighs! My body is smaller. My chest is 17 inches

smaller, my

stomach is 22 1/2 inches smaller, my hips are 17 inches smaller, each

thigh

is 10 1/2 inches smaller, each calf is 5 1/2 inches smaller, my neck is

5

inches smaller, my wrists are each 1/2 inch smaller and each arm is 7

inches

smaller. I lost a very oddly shaped person!

My one year physical is this coming Monday and eleven tubes of blood are

being tested so that my levels will be ready for my Dr. It is the first

time

that I have ever looked forward to a Dr visit.

So much has changed that it is too difficult to describe it in an email.

Suffice it to say that knowing what I know now, my decision one year ago

was the

most loving thing I could have done for myself and everyone that knows

me.

Would I like to lose more? Yes! I keep hoping that my weight loss will

not

stop until I reach 125 or 130. I would love to lose another 4 inches off

of my

chest and hips and another 8 off of my stomach. Although I think that

will

happen with a tummy tuck and a couple more inches.

I attended the picnic last year as someone beginning the journey and

dream

of losing weight. I was less than a week out of surgery sipping on

Gatorade. I

will be there this year knowing that this has been the ride of a

lifetime and

looking forward to meeting those that helped me along the way.

Margaret, I think it is wonderful the success you are having with

your weight loss. We met last year at the picnic, I was with

Margaret Bell do not know if you remember me or not Rosemary

Commisso- see you at the picnic. Keep up the great job.
