Hi, ,

I was just thinking of some things you might like to do that would give

you good practice for listening when you get your CI and are activated. Get

a tape recorder and some tapes, and have your Mom record a few children's

stories for you. Remind her to speak in a slightly slower speed than normal

conversation. Along with that, for later in your journey, have her record

personal things for you. They can include your childhood history, general

family stuff, funny stories, or whatever. It could be a terrific project for

Mom

to work on now, and a wonderful memory link for you later. Just a thought.

Hi Jackie,

Those are terrific ideas -- thanks! My mother has been looking for

activities to help keep her busy and I think she'd really enjoy the projects

you mentioned. Speaking of my mother, I'm happy to report that she made it

successfully through her second chemo treatment with nothing worse than

exhaustion. :)

I'm glad to read that your Mom is handling the chemo pretty well. It's a tough

thing to go thru. The project from Jackie sounds perfect and I am sure she will

enjoy doing it knowing how much it will benefit you.
