Update info, and need some info and feedback

Hi Everyone!

It has been alomost a month and have not posted anything here. I have

been very busy and do keep up with reading the posts.

I just want to say Good Luck to the new member;s in the waiting

process of getting your CI. Also , so very happy in reading the news

from recent people who have had a secessful CI surgery and already

enjoying your new lide of hearing sound again.

I have been doing great with my CI (3G BTE) (was hooked up on May 20,

2004) I enjoy each day with always something new that I hear or

something that I can hear and understand better today than 2 months

ago. The process of learning to listen, listen and listen again has

been easier now days in understanding what I am to be hearing.

I did have to order new batteries for my processor as the power one

was just no lasting long enough with my power hungry mapping and

stronger magnet backing on my coil. Still with the power one plus get

full 2 days maybe 3 depending on noise enviroment that I am in.

I have found the program that I like the best and use all the time

wihcih is P! set at dial sensivity. I have notice the P2 which is

volum, A/S enable not to be loud enough for me. Maybe something has

changed since my last mapping last month. go next week and will get

find out what is up or needs to be adjusted. I still can not hear the

beeps before batteries die out on me. I have read here that can take

time but also I will ask if it is set to beep.

The telephone for me with Captel is wroking great. I have used the

phone alone without the captions on with a few calls that came in and

I did have a harder time. Made me a flustered and now let my

answering machine pick up my messges so I can call back people that I

dont not talk to on regular basis.

I have to share this funny CI moment that really made me laugh. This

just happened yest and while I was on the computer with the windowns

open I started hearing this very loud. Beeping noice, continue to

beep and beep and was so loud that when I was looking ou the window

some people were looking around also due to how loud it was. Thought

is was a car alarm or garbage truck backing up (found out that makes

noise while they back up). Anyway I started walking around the house

and low and behold it was my Ultra Tec alsrm going off! I was like oh

my gosh I never knew that it could beep and vib at the same time.

Wondered how many times that was going off when I did not shut my

alarm off to find later my bed vibrating. SO like a said each day is

a new beginning for me and I love every minute of it. I also have

found friends who are so used to my being deaf and forgetting that I

can hear again, talking to me as before when deaf. Then going Oh I

forgot your can hear now..hahaha..now can have so good laughs are

deaf days vers CI days now.

I wanted to know if anyone who currently has a cell phone with the 3G

BTE can tell me which one's you have found to work the best for you.

Some one told me on Samsung cell phone..I am now in my exploring into

getting a cell phone. So anyfeedback on what has worked the best for

cell phone users now I would greatly appreciate the feeback and you

can feel free you e-mail me directly with that info if not here.
