Guest guest Report post Posted November 4, 2005 Hi, I have a " pocket talker " . Is this the same as a loop, or are you guys talking about something different? This thing cost @$150 and I never use it, having finished experimenting with it and not finding it convenient. Guest guest Report post Posted November 4, 2005 Hi Jackie: I don't think the loop and the pocket talker are the same things. The loop is a wire that goes around a room that's hooked up to some electronic gizmo that makes the t-coil respond. I used one at a SHHH meeting and hearing was sooooo easy. I didn't have to concentrate; words just rolled over me like ocean waves at the beach without me having to do anything. Hal
Guest guest Report post Posted November 4, 2005 The neckloop is a device that you wear around your neck. The end plugs into your cell phone and when you make or receive a cell call the neckloop transmits speech from the phone to your T-switch equipped cochlear implant or hearing aid. It has a built in microphone that allow for hands-free operation. You can have your phone in your purse or pocket and still answer or call out on the phone by touching the button on the neckloop. The neckloop blocks all outside interference and you hear speech more clearly than on a regular cell phone or land line phone. Guest guest Report post Posted November 6, 2005 Referring to this: http://www.nokiaaccessibility.com/loopset.html Note the picture shows Mikko with an LPS-1 (the original version) but the pic immediately below that is of the LPS-4 The LPS-4 will only fit Nokia " pop port " phones. The LPS-3 *might* be suitable for other brands of phone, as long as the phone has a 2.5mm output socket. Also the LPS-3 requires its own batteries (3 x 675s), whereas the LPS4 takes power from the cell phone battery. NZ. > Re: Loop > > > Hi, > I have a " pocket talker " .
