Guest guest
, I love your idea. What a bright bro you are! I'm sure with our crazy up/down weather if you spike it up with cayenne or chili you will warm their bodies and maybe more flows into the donation box. carolgdeuteronomy2929 <deuteronomy2929@...> wrote: Sounds yummy! I made a split pea and barley veggie soup the other day. Wasn't raw, but low sodium and no gluten.Which reminds me. At work they took out the snack vending machine and put in a snack cupboard on the honor system. The money goes to the Ethiopian church we are supporting. We've already raised enough to build the building, buy livestock and such.Anyway, when they asked for suggestions, I insisted on healthy choices as well as commonly used snacks. They got what they considered "healthy". One look at the ingredients sent me into a mood. Not a good one.So, now, weekly, I am making soup. Different each week. I label it and I put it into single serving containers and put it in the break room fridge. I ask that they pay what they can, whatever change is in their pockets and such, toward the church we are supporting. That way, they have healthy alternatives, and the church benefits as well. They call me the "health guru" at work. Gee, I wonder why.---

Guest guest
" I've already been told that it'd better be hot! I seem to have a reputation for hot stuff. " Gee, I wonder why???? ROTF!!! Can you take some hot sauce for folks to add? Not everyone likes to put burn remedies on their tonsils. I use that habanero sauce in small amounts and that adds enough fire. DH is not a hot lover. Guest guest
Gayla, It's also nice that it's being brought to them so they don't have to drive to get it and they can also ask the ingredients from the maker. Lucky them! carolgGayla <aeranch@...> wrote: Good idea . I love when people find out that healthy can also taste good. The beginning of their education!
