Guest guest
Hello, after reading and re-reading Lyns post on success and then your post on not using it for smoking I had to look at the reasons I had for not using EFT on certain issues that seemed to be " unsuccessful " . Am I afraid to use it because I know that the problem will be eliminated, or changed? That just opens up a whole new set of core beliefs. Anyone who believes that is it silly to tap your troubles away has no respect for the amount of work and insight that this modality requires. I have never worked so hard to understand and clear issues than I have with EFT. I have also never felt so close to what I feel is the authentic self than now, but I have a long way to travel and you all on this board are constantly adding new road signs. Thanks a kabillion. jdkristina <kristinac2539@...> wrote: But someone might want to try it this way because I've had great success. I've been doing the eye movements and the humming during the set-up while rubbing the sore spot. I went back and re-read the basic recipe, only to discover that the eye movements go with the Gamut procedure. So, I tried it that way. It didn't work as well for me as doing the eye movements during the setup while rubbing the sore spot! I have no idea why, and I'm sure it's just an individual thing maybe, but I had dramatic things happen from it.
Guest guest
Hi a If it works better for you doing it that way then keep on doing it. The idea of the eye rolling is to go into every way you take in information and form associations i.e. visual, auditory, kinaesthetic and inner dialogue. I don't use the gamut steps anymore starting at the head and ending at the karate chop point. I think you have just given yourself lots of issues to tap on around your smoking: Even though I am not ready to give it up as it makes my inner child feel like an adult..... Even though I can smoke and no one can stop me.... Even though I feel like I am stil sneaking around behind my mother's back and I feel ...... Be sure to tell yourself you will only give up when you feel comfortable and safe to do so and tap until you do feel that sense of comfort and security. Also ask yourself what made you start smoking? What is the most dominant emotion that makes you reach for a cigarette? What would be the good things about giving up smoking? What would you lose if you gave up smoking? After some tapping try shouting out I am ready to give up smoking and notice any negative emotion that comes up as an obstacle. Is there a physical feeling when you crave a cigarette, if so where and tap on that. What times of the day do you smoke and tap for those i.e. Even though I feel comfort from having a cigarette staight after a meal... Hope this gives you somewhere to start! Even though my inner child still wants to smoke..... Even though I believe that I should quit smoking... Even though in the past I enjoyed smoking, I choose now to quit smoking and enjoy being a nonsmoker. I'm loving it all! Cary Birch PHD, EFT-Adv. Guest guest
HI, This is how the setup is taught in a workshop I teach called Sabotage Clearing and Goal Enhancement. While saying the statement we get the client to follow our fingers, which are crossed, or a small round card with a cross marked on it, with their eyes, around in a large circle. This workshop teaches the same tapping as EFT as it too came from Callahan's work but was written by Sue and Malcolm Chaffer of Sydney, Australia in 1989. There are lots of other goodies in the workshop too. I find it works better when doing the eye movements at the beginning with the setup. Maybe because you trigger the other areas of the brain which have stuff related to the issue before the tapping rather than half way through.....
