This school year I have been teaching in Arkansas but taught in Kingsville, TX from 2000--2002. I have an excellent chance of getting a job in Houston at a private therapeutic school and I am really hoping to be in Houston by summer. I would love to hear about Houston from anyone who already lives there--the school is at Wirt Rd and the Katy freeway and will be moving nearer Hammerly and the Loop in about a year---Anybody know anything about the neighborhood near Gessner around 2801 Gessner?? I was banded Dec 21 2005. I have lost about 30 pounds so far which is not super but it is progress--when I am under this kind of stress (job changes) I used to always GAIN weight so this better. I believe it is near Beltway 8 (which is our 2nd loop). We actually will have 3 loops when FM 1960 completes the outer circle. we are getting sooooo big. //Anybody know anything about the neighborhood near Gessner around 2801 Gessner??// Gessner is a very long st and it runs from North to South. I think the area you are looking into is a nice area. Of course now that we have these refugees taking up all of the available apartment space, I would be careful. Ask how many are there and how long they will be there. Crime is out of control with the New Orleans people here. You may be in a very nice area, but you never know who your neighbor is(until he robs you at gunpoint). Besides buying Louis Vuitton purses, the people from New Orleans have also invested in guns and ammo. There has been at least 1 murder, every day since the begining of this year. I'm just warning you that you can no longer judge an apt by appearances only. I hope this does not discourage you. FEMA is only paying for them to be here 1 year which is up at the end of Aug.
