Yup, Alaska snowfall is fantastic.. and we've been here a year. Now starting

to develop a real *sense of snow* and its magic!

Last year the roof to our shed collapsed under the weight of the snow and

this morning a shelter we had built over our hot tub (PVC pipes and a tarp)

collapsed as my partner touched it to see if she could get the snow to slide

off..

Luckily we can laugh about our antics with snow!

Best wishes!

Pam

Winter is a great time to use the hot tub.. !! LOL! We didn't realize the

PVC pipe would get so brittle... hahahahahahahaha live and learn!

Yes we saw snow and ice in Montana but here the snow sticks and never leaves

all winter as there is very little wind and no temp flucuations except

downward. In Montana snow stayed a week or less and then turned to mud. I

haven't

seen this much snow accumulate and stay since I lived in Northern Michigan (40

years ago!).

Cheers and bring out the hot cider!

Lucky you snow. My family and I are wishing for snow here in upstate New

York. It's just raining here but temperatures are dropping. Farther up north

they are getting a little snow..guess we should move..We are all looking

forward to another ski and snowmobile season. Plans are underway to visit

Alaska soon. My husband's college room-mate is now located in Anchorage and

has a room waiting.

Pam (in Alaska, starring at more than 6 inches of new snow and more to

come!)

Pam,

OMG!!! Hope you knew what snow was before you moved to Alaska. Gee, PVC

pipes and a tarp wouldn't hold up to rain let alone snow here in Upstate NY.

We built a cute little house with sturdy pressure treat lumber/shingles and

it should last a few life times..But I can't begin to imagine using my hot

tub in the snow and cold. You must have thicker blood then me. We pull the

plug for winter...

Enjoy, interesting to know how other parts of the country live.

Dee
