Guest guest
Dear Dixie, Sharon and Alice, Thank you, so much, for your kind words regarding my 2 year mark. Yes, Sharon, I do feel like I have come a long way! Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I would be hearing as well today as I am! Oh yes, Dixie, I am still very much thrilled with and in awe with the sounds around me as I was on hook up day. My Dad gets a kick out of how much longer it takes me to wash the dishes since hook up day compared to before hook up day. I can't help it! I love hearing the water so I fill and refill cups and pots to give them lots more rinsing time and to let me hear the sloshing of the water. I'm just a kid at heart! Alice, am I ever glad the imbalance has become easier to deal with...Whew! I just need to hang onto someone on uneven terrain, the ocean surf, and walking outside in the dark. Thanks for letting me share my experiences! I loved reading about your early Christmas present! Aww, what a treat to have Christmas songs sung to you! He didn't sing; but the last time I babysat my 10 year old nephew, he played Christmas songs, for me, on his saxophone. It was a real listening lesson for me as I tried to pick out which song he was playing. I have gotten quite good at recognizing " Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer " as played on the saxophone. Anyway, I know what a thrill it was for you to listen to your granddaughter. Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! Patti Surgery Day 11/25/02 (What A Day!) Patti, I was told if I didn't talk so much I would get more done.. I got the biggest kick when someone made that comment to me. I figured it just goes to show how well I'm doing with the CI. I understand about water too. Just about all our vacations since hook up have been to the ocean. That sound is so wonderful. Keep enjoying all life has to offer Dee

" That cracked me up, Dee! 8-) Enjoying life is not a problem for me. No, water is definitly my downfall. My dad knows to just sit and wait until things get put up for drying. This past summer, I took up calm water kayyakking with one of my older brothers and his family. Oh, what fun! It was soo much fun to listen to the bird life, the teasing going on among us and the paddles hitting the water! Continued success to you! Patti Surgery Day 11/25/02 (What A Day!)
