Guest guest
Any tried and true recipes that are YOUR personal favorites? I'm a soup freak. I have a great lentil soup recipe but it's best made in a pressure cooker. Howvever you can just make it in a pot and cook it for an hour or so. I love it and people have requested I bring it to parties or just to their homes for dinner. Gloria
Guest guest
Gloria - please post the lentil recipe! This recipe calls for 10 vegetable boullion cubes. I no longer eat salt so I don't use them. However, if this is for someone who doesn't care about the salt and just wants a bowl of great soup, use 8-10 cubes. I used to use them and it was great, LENTIL SOUP 2 quarts of water 1 can stewed or diced tomatoes 1 med.carrot, chopped 2 cups minced fresh onions 2 stalks celery, chopped 1/2 green pepper, cut fine 1 cup cabbage, chopped 3 bay leaves (discard) 2 cloves of garlic, minced 1 cup lentils, well washed handful of fresh spinach 10 vegetable cubes Cook everything in a pressure cooker for 15 min. at 15 lbs. of pressure. (If you cook it in a regular soup pot, you'll have to judge when it's done. I love using the pressure cooker because it's fast and the soup always tastes great)

Every now and then she stops to breathe. -- Jimmy Durante > > I'm a soup freak. I have a great lentil soup recipe but it's best made in a > pressure cooker.
