Elyse:

Good post on how to do your laundry.

I completely agree about the static cling. I went more " natural " with my

laundry some months ago and was also concerned about the static cling. It

never happened.

Of course, I rarely overdry anything and especially with synthetic clothing,

hang it when it is still damp. A lot of people are not aware that using a

dryer on clothes really does shorten their lives. My son is still wearing

some sweatshirts that are over 5 years old and still look good because I

taught him to use the dryer sparingly.

And lastly - about the fabric softeners. I read somewhere that among other

things, softeners often contain formaldehyde. Ugh (When I go for my daily

walk and I smell the dryer fumes coming out of people's vents, I hold my

breath and step up the pace).

Cheers

Penny,

same with me, I walk by houses and the smell of the softeners coming

out of them is so strong. Not only formaldehyde but a whole host of

toxins are in there - it's funny, people complain about pollution but

they're adding to it every time they do their laundry. Wish we could

ban fabric softeners, air 'fresheners' etc :-)
