Hi Lenny,

I'm so glad that you are doing so well with your implant. It is pretty

overwhelming at first when you realize how much you hearing is restored. As far

as the batteries, the alert may be on an electrode that is soft yet since you

are newly activated. You can ask the audiologist to move the battery beep to an

electrode that is louder and/or easier to hear. Don't worry about not hearing

it though. Other than being an inconvenience to you, there's no harm.

Everything is fine.

Keep sending in those super reports. They are great to read.

Alice

The low battery warning beeps can be adjusted by your audie to be heard on

one of 2 electrodes. I had been using the lightly lower pitched electrode for a

long time. At first, I was never able to hear it because like with all the

other sounds, I didn't know it was there until I learned it. Then I could only

hear the battery beeps in quiet and not in noise. I then asked my audie to

change me to the other electrode which was higher pitched. For me, the higher

pitched electrode was easier to hear over the din of the environment. If you

carry batteries with you everyhwere you go then you don't have to worry about

the batteries dying on you because you will always be prepared.
