Guest guest
Carol - Quite often if you fill up the pot with water and add a couple of handfuls of backing soda, let water come to a boil and boil for awhile, the baking soda will clean off the burnt stuff. I've done this before with small pans and it always worked - don't know about a big pot. May have to buy KETCHUP. Wonder what is in there that would make it work. Here's her note: " let the entire burnt area w/ KETCHUP yes ketchup & let sit 24-48... " She said she couldn't believe it either. Hugs, carol

Guest guest
I said vinegar because that would probably be the active ingredient in ketchup. Guest guest
, Think you are also right on the "baking soda" but also I know baking "powder" and vinegar give that fizzle too. I was thinking of trying the ketchy just because it sounds interesting but if so, it's tomorrow before I buy any. Gosh, I remember the ketchup and potato days but it's so long ago so my temptation to hit the bottle and also gulp it down is gone.
