Guest guest Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 Hi , Insurance will dictate whether you receive one or 2 processors. But what goodies you get are the same. You'll get a bag filled with things like an extra cord, accessory adaptor cable, 59 " lapel microphone & clip, signal check, battery cover set (12 colors), TV Hi-Fi cable and personal audio cable. You will also receive a box of 300 batteries (a year's supply) for the 3G. You also get a Dry & Store, and a splash box that holds the processor over night, some drying cells, etc. Phonak makes a Microlink Adaptor (part no Z60409) that plugs into the bottom of the 3G. It costs $85. But the rest of his Phonak unit should work with it. It's almost like Christmas when you see all the goodies you get with the 3G, and all made by Nucleus, too. If Peyton is used to wearing hearing aids, he might not need the Mic-loc that goes around the ear to hold the processor on. Remember nothing goes IN the ear, like the hearing aid, so that's something different. Good luck, ask any questions you have. Nucleus Volunteer From: " forestcarrie " <carrieforest@...> Subject: Nuke Dbl array and well more ????? Wea re going to get the Nuke24 , I'm just not sure if its the traditional one or the Double Arry. Peyton has ossification full in left ear and partial in right ear. Dr. has no idea why. He never had menengitis, and he said it wasn't caused from ear infections because of the location. (its in his cochlea middle superior turn)He is going to try the regular one first and if it won't work do the DBL. Ironically since posting to about ins. cost this has made me remember the Dr. said after opening the first implant, if it doesn't work he will throw it away. There's 24k in the trash. Can anyone tell me what you normally receive at hook-up? We are going with the BTE but not sure what accessoires come with it. Does everyone get the same or does the insurance company dictate what you get? Also are there any recomendations on must haves. I have read on the website about different things but I don't have a clue what you do with them. We also have a phonak FM system for his Widex aids. I just found out last night they (Phonak) now makes a FM for CI's for cochlear products. From what I understand we can use our current receiver. I believe it would have to be reprogrammed or something but is still usable. - The long winded mother of Peyton. ________________________________________________________________ Juno Platinum $9.95.
