My daughter (5yo)who is not implanted at this time (considering) has always had a loss sloping down to 55 dB in the higher freq.. She got a real bad sinus/ear infection last October. The docs kept putting her on antibiotics. The ENT could not put her tubes in until January.... SIGH!!!! At christmas her older sister gave her a carebear snowglobe. It played " You Are My Sunshine " . I remember Brittany saying " Mommie, I can't hear it, turn it up " ... I was so upset that she had lost all of her hearing.... When the doc did her tubes in January he said she would get 40% of her hearing back. She didn't, her loss progressed from 55 db down to 95 db currently..... All because she had taken so many antibiotics they were not working and he couldn't do the tubes for three months. Doctors just make me sick.... Well, most of them..... I hope your daughter gets okay and doesn't suffer hearing loss. a
Guest guest
Sharon, I know you've been quiet. Now I know the reason. How is your daughter doing? I too hope there is no hearing loss because of the ear infection. How we all fear this for our children and grandchildren even though we know that there is a CI. I know I want my family to keep their hearing and I'm always preaching to them. They probably get sick of hearing me. How is your daughter today? Alice I was off work Saturday and was lost. I have been working some long hours these past few weeks and was very lazy all day Saturday and Sunday. Daughter is very sick and I took her to the doctor today but she is going to be fine. She is very dizzy with an ear infection and I hope she does not lose any of her hearing like I used too.
