Guest guest
Lois, There are 1.5 billion live cells/capsules (didnt give a mg amount); you can get Kyo-Dophilus at most health food stores. I order mine from Wellness , Health, and Pharmacy (fax:1-800-369-0302) Kate

Guest guest
Joan I think with acidophilus you have to compare the number of live organisms per capsule. Eg Culturelle and ProBioGold both have 20billion organisms in each capsule. This is much more potent than the typical OTC product from the health food shop. So if each Solgar capsule contains, say, 2 billion organisms, you need 10 to be equivalent to 1 capsule of PBG or Culturelle. Our kids typically need high potency products because the gut problems are more severe. Also we had problems with Solgar in the past when showed a casein type reaction to the ABCdophilus type. The other thing to be aware of in OTC products is they may not have had the optimum storage conditions etc so they may not be as active as Culturelle or some of the Kirkmans products. I think on probiotics it is one supplement where you really get what you pay for. I'm not sure how much they cost in the US. Check Kirkmans website for the latest cost of ProBioGold. BW Caroline Subject: Question about Acidopophilius I have 40+ form solgar. it has 4 differet types & tgere are 60 caps which can be opened and it cost 15.00. How does this compare to the products you are all using? Is it OK? Expensive? Joan
